How do these games compare to each other? They look quite similar to me so I thought I'd ask those of you who have played both.

Descent is more like a 3d Doom whereas Freespace is more a space combat simulator, more like xwing or Tie fighter, or Wing Commander.

Ah ok, thanks. Does that also apply to Descent 3?
