You have until May 10th to qualify:
Seventh, all people who have bought Demigod at retail or direct up May 10th (and didn't return the game obviously) will be getting a coupon that will let them purchase a second copy of Demigod for 50% off for a limited time as a way for us to show appreciation for this community that has put their faith and trust in us.

So does that mean all the coupons will be handed out around the 10th or 11th?

Good question, I really don't know. You may want to contact support atta stardock dot com or browse through the comments on that thread. I looked through the first 5 pages and didn't spot any official word.
Edit:
Post 62 from Brad:
Simsun and others:
I should also say, that the coupons to Demigod users are really just the start of Stardock goodies. Without giving away too much, we are talking to publishers about doing specials for Demigod players on Impulse. I.e. early adopters of Demigod will get various coupons off of anything on Impulse as well but I can't be specific yet because we only started talking to publishers on Friday (We already have 1 BIG publisher lined up).
My opinion is that Stardock's reputation in the industry absolutely must be something people can trust in. Therefore, we MUST make up the early launch issues with Demigod up to our customers.
On a different note, for the first time since launch, I the team here at Stardock is feeling mighty good.
I don't know enough on IT to really explain what has been done behind the scenes. Does anyone here work in IT and want to take a stab at explaining what is involved in creating an international proxy server system -- from scratch -- that works without having to change 1 line of code in the game client in a period of 14 days?

It's about the topic, but doesn't directly answer your question. I'd still suggest contacting support for the official word.

Well considering that I decided I couldn't be bothered to wait for a demo and bought Demigod at the end of April, I suppose if I get a coupon I could pass it to someone -- if the terms of use for it allow for that sorta thing.
I haven't even played the game online yet, but I have been enjoying it a lot and don't regret spending the 3900 yen I did on it. Even though it really hates working with certain elements of Comodo running.
So, if I get a coupon each from two different people, would I get the game for free? I may even play it then.

Why would they give you a coupon for half-off the game you just bought if you couldn't give the coupon to a friend of yours? That would make absolutely zero business sense.

Makes sense. I know an idiot who went through five copies of CS: Source because he kept trying to cheat.

For some reason that reminded me of that guy who played 36 WoW accounts simultaneously.
Oh yeah, I emailed Stardock's support and was told to watch the forums as they didn't have the details right now.

If you have no friends to give the coupon, you can always SELL the coupon to any sucker willing to buy it for up to and possibly including $20. They'll come out somewhat ahead, you get cash, it all works out.
It's really a smart move imo. I recommend the starting price at $15 and let them negotiate you down to $10.
i will totally buy someone a $6 gog of their choice if they give me their coupon

I'll buy someone a $10 game for their coupon. Beat THAT.
Just kidding, I'm not interested in Demigod. No matter how good it is, I'm more of a single player kinda guy.

So am I, and I enjoy Demigod immensely.

Yeah, but stranger things have happened. Such as how anal Valve can get about gifting.
