I want to play again this!
Can I buy it on GOG?
This game like RPG, but better! - colossal endless locations, atmospheric sound, many weapons
- and rare missions from times of "Cold War" ))

Trouble only one - low resolution , 1024x768.
This game work on Windows 7?
It's not on GOG at the moment and it's aged HORRIBLY! I have it and it's sequel somewhere. You might want to look into the two ARMA games on here (Cold War & ARMA of which Cold War is the older as it's Operation Flashpoint rebranded.)

If I remember rightly Operation Flashpoint was made by Novalogic so you could consider it a spiritual successor.
Operation Flashpoint was done by Codemasters. Delta Force games are Novalogic.

Bohemia Interactive do the Arma series. Arma Cold War Assault was going to be Op Flashpoint Cold War Crisis. All a bit confusing!

I actually still play DF2 on an almost daily basis, quite a few still play online, the servers don't show via Novaworld, but there is a small app called DF Favourites that lists all the user servers still active. as for the low resolution, it can be raised via editing a file :)

no, Flashpoint was developed by Bohemia Interactive for Codemasters. when they split, Bohemia went on to make the ArmA series while Codemasters retained the rights to the OpFlash series and made two more games.

Bohemia got the rights to OpFlash back a year ago, but not the rights to the name, hence the re-branding to ArmA: Cold War Assault.

NovaLogic have not done anything noteworthy since Joint Operations. that was around the time when BF2 came out, and killed Joint Ops.

If any of you haven't played ArmA: CWA, there's still time. Play it. :)

Ah that explains why I didn't find servers, DF Favourites you say?

How high can the resolution go via ini editing? 1920x1080? does the aspect ratio is maintaned or you are forced to use 4:3 resolutions? Does this works for all games using that voxel engine?

Ditto.

And Novalogic is only going downhill since, trying to extort money to play MP.

DF: Angel Fall news, anyone? Other than they are trying to scam people for the closed beta.

I don't think they are doing to to make money right now. It sounds like the current tests are rather technical right now. The sunup page more or less states this stage isn't meant for people to be playing for fun. Its probably like a real beta test, and not just game balancing and finding the occasional bug. You actually have to contribute here. I would imagine the requirements for participation were put there so that they only get people who are really interested in testing the game, as opposed to people who just want early access.
delta force was fun, the horrendous engine even by standards of late 90s somewhat added to the experience lol
I remember buying Delta Force 2 when it came out and it moved silky smooth but extremely slowly. Now it actually runs properly, isnt exactly a looker but playable and quite enjoyable. I managed to get a Delta Force compilation with all the games in it. I think Land Warrior was my favourite one looking back. I do like the remake of the first game also which was named Delta Force Extreme.

I think the first 2 Delta Force games actually used Voxels for the graphics. There was a fad that landed round that time and a fair few games did actually use them for the graphics, best known one is here on GOG - Outcast

yeah. NovaLogic used a Voxel engine for a whole range of semi-sims including the Comanche, Armored Fist and Delta Froce series.

at the time, polygon-based 3D engines could not efficiently display life-like open-world environments on affordable home computers. Voxel-based engines could, hence the fad. as processing power exploded, this became a non-issue and everyone went back to polygons.

Voxel landscapes were incredible at the time.
Yeah, completely agree with the way the voxels look. Polygons from that era were quite chunky also and characters looked blocky and lacked detail. With the voxels they could ramp the detail up so the worlds and characters actually looked decent.

There is an unnoficial update to Outcast available which ramps the detail up even higher to HD quality. There is a vid on Youtube for it, looks really good for a game its age, been a lot of work put into the update.
There is also a 10th anniversary collection DVD for Delta Force, containing DF 1-2, Land Warrior+expansion and Black hawk down+expansion, plus Black hawk down's soundtrack.

It is a rather cheaply made collection though. Just a DVD with everything shoved onto the disc, and the stickers containing the CD-keys are not even in the right order, so finding out which CD-key works for which game is a matter of trial & error (and no, there is no indication of which game works with which key, there are just stickers on the inside with CD-keys on). Still, it is a very cheap way to get most of the DF games.

I was being a bit sarcastic.

Yes, I know what a beta is for. Usually people mistake it for a final product which they should have fun, but that's not what a beta means.

To me it just seemed suspicious how they want people with gold accounts or whatever the requirements, for a chance in it.

I will buy DF:AF when it's out, would like more news about it and novalogic is slacking about it for years.

At the time of release, the engine was fit for the type of games they were making. A GPU wouldn't have the power to render all that. ;-)

Just nowadays it's unacceptable that they use the same or similar engine for DF: Xtreme 1 or 2. They need to change it badly for DF:AF.

Yep, Outcast has a very good atmosphere and art, there's even a way to play it in higher resolutions, just have a look here www.gog.com/en/forum/outcast/

A good collection, costs like $10 to $20.

Didn't know about the stickers problem, again that's very lame coming from novalogic. :/

I did not mean to imply that you didn't know what a beta was or anything. Its just that in recent years a beta test has turned into some preorder bonus, and/or something meant to get people interested in the game. That is not what this one is right now, and I think that the requirements are there so that people who do think that's what a beta test is don't get in. I certainly wasn't trying to criticize you.

I remember playing that game as well, I liked it :)

Please read the stickies and vote for it in the wishlist, it's lame but it's what we got until it's fixed
