Will GOG completely delete an account once all the games are downloaded, including all forum posts if requested?

Accounts in the past have been deleted, so, yes to that. Although I don't know about the posts made with that account. I guess that can be possible, since some posts in the forums can be deleted as well (spam, offensive, etc...).

But isn't better to just stop using your account and forget about it instead?. Otherwise, you will lose access to your purchased games permanently as well...

I think that you can, but I doubt the posts will be removed.

I'm actually fairly sure that there's been a user who did get all his posts deleted. I believe Licurg was being an ass as Licurg usually is, which offended someone and he asked his forum presence to be removed, which led to... Weird topics with replies to non-existing posts.

Given that updates, additions, bugfixes, etc. do happen sometimes, why not just hang onto it and just leave the forum alone? We don't have user profiles anyway, so nobody can see your account regardless. Wanting it to be entirely deleted seems like an unnecessarily dramatic gesture. I don't mean that as critique, I have nothing but respect for you Iain, and you are certainly free to do with your account as you wish. Just make sure that it's not a "heat-of-the-moment" decision that you'll end up regretting at some point. After all, you can just ignore the account if you wish.

but it's bad and sad people becoming unhappy here because of a few trolls.

In that case, I suppose he won't have a problem, if a major reason is involved.

I don't want to go into it guys, I'm respectful like that, towards GOG and the users here. There's a lot of you guys who are great and its been a joy interacting here with you.


I was just REALLY surprised with something earlier on, its been brewing a while now anyhow hence why you haven't seen me about the forum as much. So going to reconnect the 320Gb hard drive I have, download everything I have purchased here and I'm out of here for good.

That's what happens when you try to colour up the place a bit, some people take offense at the imagery while others are happy the place isn't all the same shade of gray.

I think you're talking about gameon. He asked to Support to delete his account (and probably all his posts).
I have his name in my PM list, but everytime I click on it, it freezes my PM page with a loading animation... (:P)
