So I asked for some game recommendations a while back and many of you gave me some great game choices. I've got a limited budget for this sale as I have to buy some Christmas presents next week. As mentioned in my previous post I've missed some great games over past few years.

Anyhow, I think I'm going to get the STALKER and Gabriel Knight bundles. Those are really good prices for those games right? (Both are 75% off) I've never played any of the games in either of the bundles and I'm a fan of both genres. Any other games in this sale that are a must have at this current sale price?
The sale ends in 17 hours and I have to go to work soon so I have to make my decisions before I leave. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I don't have much time so I will give you fast list:
- Thief games. All of them.
- Witcher Tag Team
- S.T.A.L.K.E.R games
- Commandos 2+3
- Heroes 3
- King Quest series
- Mount and Blade - Warbrand! Sorry, that was mistake!

Syndicate 1 and rest of the money can be spent on beer.

Nah, I beat Syndicate back in the day. I played PC games back then. Just took about a 8 - 10 year break.

I just played the first Gabriel Knight game, and enjoyed it immensely. Once you get used to the visuals, which really doesn't take long, it's an absolute pleasure. I'm with you on that one. As far as the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games go, well, I've dipped into them and never played them because of time pressures - but I'm really looking forward to when I do have a chance to give them proper attention. I think you've chosen well.

Errrr? People report that it is an instable bug fest...

Anyway, how about:
Heres of Might and Magic 3
Baldurs Gate 1 & 2
Neverwinter Nights 1 & 2
Planescape Torment
Big sales such as this one repeat (in one form or another) several times a year. Plus, a large subset of these titles will be found in frequent smaller sales. Unless you're intending to play your purchases soon, you don't need to fret.

There are occasional exceptions: Some games have disappeared from GOG entirely. But most titles will be available again at a comparable price soon enough.
Sacrifice .
Get the STALKER bundle,Dungeon Keeper 1+2,Terraria or the Rayman series.
I'd just get Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers on its own and buy something else with the rest of the money. Sure, the GK bundle seems like a great offer, but you don't even know whether you'll like the first game yet, and the first one is the best anyway. The other two are quite different from the first, and much more dated. Not saying their stories are bad, but the puzzle design and general gameplay in the sequels is not as enjoyable as the first one, IMO.

Interesting perspective...

Thanks man. I'm heading that direction...

I'm sure they have their fans, too, even though I doubt anyone would disagree that the first is the best, so don't just rely on my opinion. Maybe check a gameplay video of the second and third and judge by yourself whether you'd find them attractive to play.

Still, I think if you can find another really great game for the two bucks or whatever you'd save by not buying the bundle, the two great games would be preferable to one great game and two average ones. ;) (Unless you're a collector, or someone with 'historical' interest in these games, of course.)

Well, I actually liked GK2 best, just to prove there's an exception to every rule ;)
Honestly, though, I wouldn't overthink it, I mean, it's a little more than 4 $, how bad can it really be?
Can't say anything about the STALKER series, but I know I really liked the Thief-games.
Ultimately though everybody is going to tell you different things, you just have to decide what feels best to you...
And just like grimwerk mentioned, there's alway going to be another sale, so no need to get stressed out.
Can't stress enough that you can choose the Thief series anytime
