Why? Is it a bad thing now eh?
Ah, I love the smell of ... in the morning
/kidding
I hope everyone be safe there, in Iceland. ;)
nah it just that the wind direction has changed, so the ash is blowing this way. I just noticed soot on our car, and heard something about people with contact lenses preferably staying indoors(?!)... but you can't see ash or anything in the air...
Looks really small from above

Anyone got any good pictures of the ash cloud?
Yes, shame we can't see any of it.

Who would of thought..ash..in Iceland.
Another problem is that the airspace of all of northern Europe has been closed down because of the ash cloud. Apparently, the ash has a melting point that is just below the temperature inside a jet engine. So basically, the engines get clogged by lava. Not a good thing.
Also, the ash is apparently abrasive, so the cockpit windows slowly turn more and more opaque as the plane flies through the cloud. Also not a good thing.
Still, we shouldn't complain. The Icelanders are getting hit hard at the moment. First their economy collapses completely. Then a volcano erupts. Then that sets off another volcano with a glacier on top of it, causing massive floods. I dare say they are having a harder time of it at the moment than we are.
I only have this picture to show...

Cool, it's moving in such a way it will neatly cover all of Sweden for days. My first thought was "crud", but then I remembered I don't have a flight to catch in the next few days, so now I'm eagerly anticipating the arrival of the cloud so I can find out if it's as comfy as rain is. I love rain for some reason.
A mate of mine told me abut this yesterday, saying that flights were grounded because of "Icelandic Volcano Dust", I thought he was talking about some new drug
