My big Ubisoft wish is Albion

Navagon: Rather than something more immediately obtainable?
If it meant that they would work harder to get the rights to System Shock faster, then yes. The payoff would be much greater if they were able to secure SS2, as demonstrated by the wishlist than going after a lesser known title like Settlers . Not saying Settlers wouldn't be a good addtion, but SS2 would be far better.

You're not being realistic about this. The phrase ice skating uphill exists for a reason.

I'd rather they bring in a regular supply of classics than focus on one that has been rendered almost unobtainable thanks to the almost completely incompatible business models of the two companies in question.

No one part of EA can authorise worldwide sale of any one of their games, new or old. So how the hell are they going to release their games through a service that does not allow regional restrictions? It would mean GOG having to okay it with each and every EAHQ and then pulling that same game from sale is so much as one HQ changes their mind. It's about as practical as a paper raincoat.

I think you and I are in basic agreeement, I was just talking about a one to one trade for SS2 and Settlers. Keeping a flow of old games coming out is and must be a priority, but I just want a little balance between old games we know and love vs old ones that a much smaller number of people even know exist. I've been very happy with the current ratio which GOG has been working, and look forward to more great releases in the future.

...but one can hope for SS2 on GOG someday...

Well maybe if someone else bought all those unused classic EA IPs...

But yeah, we're not going to see them here from EA themselves. You're better off hoping they turn up DRM-free on Gamersgate. Or even on EA Store would be a start.
