toxicTom: Dear developers please hire an UI designer. And please one that grabs the concept of different control methods and screen resolutions. I don't need 2" text on the screen right in front of my face just because console gamer are sitting farther away. I also don't want tiny icons and letters, just because you couldn't imagine someone running the game at higher resolutions than 800x600.
"Press Button A to talk" does not help, if I'm playing with mouse and keyboard. And allow me to navigate menus with my mouse, not just arrow keys and enter.
Please allow me to rebind my controls. Independently - not "one key has different meanings in different contexts" (i.e. This key means Use in-game, Drop in inventory and Craft in crafting screen). And then show me my bindings when displaying help texts.
When you make a game with an inventory with stackable item, let me sell/drop as many as I want. Not only one at a time and not only all of them.
Avoid confirmation dialogs for things that I have to do very often (i.e. poison my weapon). If you implement confirmations, let me confirm with Enter, do not make me have to click the fiddly OK button every time.
When setting defaults, please honor platform conventions. Esc should take me to the menu, and not suddenly quit the game or anything. If feasible, I want to quicksave/-load with F5 and F9.
If you make some simulator-like game, support my Joystick complete with Hat-switch and throttle.
If you make some racing game, support my steering wheel, with independent pedals for acceleration and braking.
If you show me status effects or stuff like this as cryptic icons, explain what they are when I hover over them. Don't rely on your iconographic talents, they may not as big as you think or I maybe dumber than you expect.
You just summed up 90% of all things that annoy me in video games as a whole...
