Anyone else think so? I havent played the game before(being that I dont own a 360 or PS3, yet) but from what i've seen it plays alot like Resident Evil 4 which Capcom made a Wii port for, and it was awesome! So I think the game will be good and I am definately getting it.
What about you all?

Don't have a Wii, but I wonder: how do you expect to play it? I've got no idea how the standard shooter controls work on the Wii, but I have trouble imaging a good control scheme. I mean: you can't very well turn with the controller, so the controls would have to somehow combine turning with the joystick and aiming with the sensors, which seems a bit strange to me.

I have never played the game so could you tell me one thing? Are you allowed to move while shooting in Dead Space? If not then there shouldnt be any problem at all.

You can, albeit very slowly.

You usually don't (although I can't remember if you actually can, but you usually stop to aim anyway). I'm just curious how you would do the turning? Joystick or sensors?
you'd probably use the sensors for aiming and the joystick for moving & turning. The movement doesn't have t be as accurate as the shooting does and could afford to be a bit more clunky.
Then again I've never even seen a wii so I'm only going on my vague impressions of it
We have a Wii and as far as I know there's no joystick for it The controls would be through the Wiimote, which means either you control your direction through aiming the remote where you want to go and using one of the buttons on it to move, or (more likely) you use the up, down, left, right arrow button to move and use the remote to aim. Probably rather awkward, although one would likely get used to it in short order.
IMO, the Wii is likely a poor tool for FPS games and is much better suited to other genres. It's a really fun game system, but has its limitations.
*edit* Forgot about the nunchuck. It's like a joystick, so likely that would be used for movement. If so, i can actually see that working out rather well...

I just noticed that with me never having played Dead Space and everyone else here never having played on a Nintendo Wii, excluding Coelocanth, this thread is basically a person who cant hear trying to have an intelligent conversation with alot of people who cant talk.
Or maybe its more like a person who cant read trying to send a letter to his pen pals that cant write?
I dunno, basicaly unless someone who has played Dead Space and owns a Wii that he/she plays frequently with we will never realy be able to decide if the controls will realy be able to work well in the Wii port.
So until that godlike saint travels to this thread and embows us with his/her unending wisdom in order to smite our quarrels I say we should simply discuss the game while assuming that controls are not a factor to be worried about.
Now, a Wii exclusive bonus weapon? Maybe a futuristic shotgun of some kind? Who's with me? :D
The controls seemed clunky on the PC to me. For the wii it would seem to be a perfect fit. The only problem could be getting the correct feel of a 3rd person shooter.
That would be crazy. In a good way, but I doubt it'll come.
I got a Wii and some shotting games. I im better with the wiimote nunchuck combo than other controllers from Xbox or Playstation. The mouvement use joystick and aiming use sensor. The aiming is more precise than whit a joystick. I like to kill whit a knife when you ave to do the mouvement. But the mouse still the best way to play fps. I dont have dead space I ave some of the shooters on wii.
The Wii is more powerful than the Xbox, right?
I guess this decision was made because they already have the last-gen material:

Uhm, no. The Wii is by far the weakest of the current-gen consoles.

He meant the original XBOX
About the controls for Wii shooters, I played some more or less recent releases of Resident evil (Umbrella chronicles or something I think) and Medal of honor. In Resident evil I had to stop moving to aim with the sensor and shoot (very disturbing when fending off a number of zombies), and I thought it was very hard to aim. In Medal of honor I could move using that punching joystick, aim with sensor and turn by aiming to the limits of the screen... again hard to aim, and also hard to turn. To make things worse for me, it was hard to move as well: I'm left-handed, so I can't aim with my right hand -- but as pretty much everyone else in the universe, I'm not used to directing the joystick with the right hand either.
So in both cases it felt stupid and it almost made me prefer to aim with a PS2 joystick. Almost. (And to be honest I know several good shooters on PS2 against none on the Wii). But the point is, I disagree with anyone who thinks shooters feel better on Wii than on PC.
