wodmarach: Current rumor is steam and deepsilver messed up and put up the wrong version.
Not the first time that's happened. It also happened with Drug Wars (under it's original name) when that was first released. Of course, looking at the current build still being sold, you wouldn't notice that they actually did eventually fix that.

After the steaming turd that was Gothic 4 is vowed never to pre-order a game before. And I broke this vow for Dead Island. Fuck you, industry.

Unreal Tournament 3 was a bad pre-order decision for me. My last few have been good, though: 3D Dot Game Heroes, Portal 2, Infamous 2, Deus Ex Human Revolution.

I played it for a few hours with friends last night. It's a bit buggy sure and the menus are horrible and basically scream CONSOLE PORT at you. But it was still a lot of fun and i've played games in a much worse state on release day, such as Fallout: New Vegas.

And accidentally killing myself when i hit the noclip key was actually a pretty funny moment.

Meh yeah probably overreacted a little. Though, if this game is a terrible console port when I actually get to play it in a few days time I'll probably throw another tantrum.

If it really is a terrible console port, then your tantrum will be justified. Hopefully you'll get your money's worth of enjoyment out of it, though. It seems to be doing "OK" on the review sites so maybe the patch and the actual proper release will help.

Batman: Arkham City is next on the pre-order list for me.
