korell: Look how much punishment these guys put the car (well, pickup) through.

A little bit of smoke out the bonnet is all that happens. They even ran down a Suicider.

F1ach: LOL, nice find, I actually did that (not the video), went down where the HELP sign is...If you recall, further down there, there is a car parked on top of a road sign, I was trying to see if I could get one up there too...failed miserably :(

Cool link though ! :)
You can't destroy cars in DI, you can ram them into whatever you want (or if you can, you could almost never encounter it during gameplay, I abused the fucking hell out of my vehicles, in DI:R I've run them into no less than 10 suiciders in a single "run", bounced them off barricades, and all manner of shit, same in classic DI). I didn't respond to random train of spewing angry thoughts because, well, you're never going to convince him and he has the right to not like it. I would strongly advise anyone looking for information on any of the games he mentioned to ignore all his statements, as there's little guaranteed accuracy in said statements. Other resources will help more.

Nope you're wrong I destroyed the Pickups Had one Blow up on me once I'm Not Shitting you! although I did run into a few things full force! I had FLAMES coming out of the Bonnet and the car stalled!

If you have Dead Island and don't really enjoy the game play and the game runs like shit on your laptop, is there a reason to buy Riptide?

Yeah, if you didn't like the first game, you won't like the second.

orcishgamer: Yeah, if you didn't like the first game, you won't like the second.
May I add, that opposite statement is also true.

WTF: May I add, that opposite statement is also true.
Absolutely, and I hope this thread has made it abundantly clear. It's more of the same, only refined in various, small ways and that's AWESOME.
My daughter upon seeing a Thug while playing co-op as Xian Mei:

"Hold on, let me cut his arms off."

Alright!
Restarted again last night as John, but this time absolutely every nook and cranny and cove has to be explored, I can take my time now without quests driving the narrative too quiclly.

I know people hate DI, but jesus I love the game and John really brings something new to the table. Going toe to toe with a thug, or having jousting championships with Infected as we sprint towards each other and kick several shades of shit out of them.

I also love all the bombs/mines available so early in the game.

The bonkers physics, where you can climb up a palm tree and press "X" and rop down on top of zombies, or place a bunch of mines under a ladder and attract a bunch of zombies into them....Theres a great place near the film guy who wants you to kill a Thug, they just infinitly respawn there just keep placing mines and watch the bodies flying all over the place!

Definately a game for sick fucks.

If I was to improve it in any way, it would be to allow you to import John into the original, other than that, its the best game I've bought since DI 1 :)))).
Not infinitly. At some point they stop spawning (probably after some story quest).

WTF: Not infinitly. At some point they stop spawning (probably after some story quest).
I think once you kill the Thug the first time they stop, they dont re- appear even though the Thug does respawn.
Hm that's possible. After I killed the thug with fury I ran like hell to avoid those annoying infected, so maybe I missed it.
Got this tip from Jimi di Griz on another forum :

Apparently there is a bit of an easter egg down in Halai. Next to the southernmost Dead Zone where you collect Marcus' toolbox, there is a yellow shack on the (EDIT:) east side of it - walk around to the back in the water and some broken slats will have the gears symbol that allow you to enter. Inside you'll encounter the Toolbox Midget, a Borderlands reference.

Got an orange golf club and some other stuff there.

Nice. I'll check it out next playthrough. I'm replaying original DI right now with Xian. Lots of fun. Will transfer her to Riptide after finishing.
