Yay, activated, pre-loaded and ready to play. :D
Will try it right after (late) breakfast.

How is it possible that nobody's posted here in ten hours?

Screw other forums. :P

Yay, they fixed the "black screen" issue when running the game on a system with two screens. They've REALLY outdone themselves this time. /sarcasm

Edit: OMG. They DIDN'T! It only worked the first time because it was running in window mode. >.< Shitfuck, how can such a bug be still present?

F1ach: I imported a Lv 50 Purna, she had her skills but no weapons, so now she is stuck at level 50 fighting Lv 50+ mobs with noob weapons.
A similar thing could happen in the original game. I was still playing level 2 or 3 Xian and suddenly jumped up approximately fifteen levels because I finished two of the challenges which I had almost done with SamB (yes, two level 4 challenges at the same time). Suddenly it took me several minutes to kill one zombie, and yeah, I was screwed at first because I was still running around with broom sticks and stuff. But remember that all the loot you will find after that point will be more adequate to your level, so it's just a matter of minutes to get this problem fixed. I presume it's the same with Riptide.

I played some Riptide last night with the GF and I have 2 screens and it worked? (after putting it fullscreen). Game did crash the first time i confirmed the video card changes though, same for the GF, but they still took. Haven't really seen any problems since but only got through the tutorial and to the first main quest hub.

Isn't the game designed to be played with noob weapons at this point anyway? If you weren't 50 and the mobs 50 you'd be 15 and the mobs 15, either way you don't start at 1.

Yeah I remember that bug with achievements from other characters, it worked out to my advantage on some occasions :)

Yes technically when you load in a Lv 50 character, the weapons do scale from eg. 100 dps to maybe 400 dps, but the enemies take more effort to kill and sometimes you will be dealing with 3-4 at a time. I found Logan to be the best so far in this situation, he can carry a bunche of melee weapons, but with Boomerang and his AoE, he rips through mobs :)

It was quite annoying when I played the first game coop. Less than an hour into the game I suddenly hit one of them from playing solo before and boom, a score of levels ahead of my coop partner. I'm still a whole level ahead even at 38 now.

Havent tried Co_Op. I'm only Lv 31 on Purna, have just rescued the "holy man", so I havent progressed much yet.

I never perceived that as a bug. I always thought this was intended, so when you switch characters you make faster progress. I certainly enjoyed the fact that I'd find katanas and get so many advanced skills this early on with my second character. The only thing that pissed me off was that I finished two challenges (including a level 4 challenge) in the Ryder White DLC, wasting LOTS of XP since he doesn't get any bonuses from it.

Anyway: enjoying the hell out of Riptide so far. Loved the intro sequence on the ship and I'm glad to see that they improved some of the biggest quirks of the base game, like how the plot never made any sense when the game wasn't played with a full team. It's great that the other characters are now NPCs. I'm really curious how they deal with custom team setups now, like how the cutscenes and dialogue change when two or three characters are player controlled. Well, will find out soon enough as my buddy is gonna get the game in a few days (and I'll try convincing another friend to grab it too). :)

Well, IMHO that wasn't a big problem. When we started playing Dead Island together (me and two friends) everyone was on a different XP level already and that didn't hurt the gameplay at all. So I don't see how a sudden big boost in XP will do big harm either.

It's interesting (only mildly) when you exit instances in solo mode, Purna remarks something like..."Why am I expected to do all this on my own!!!"...

It was particularly annoying because the loot scales to the person that finds it, so any loot I pick up is too high level for her to use and any she picks up is too low for me, which gets pretty annoying after a while since we could have been sharing loot throughout the whole game, instead there's really little point to it.

I noticed that but it didn't seem like that big a problem to me. You do often find loot below or above your own level, so as long as you're not too many levels apart it shouldn't be that big a problem in my experience. And good items that are above your level are also a good thing. I've also picked up a few good katanas which I saved for my buddy who was playing as Xian on a much lower level. And personally I love having items which you can't use yet - gives you something to look up to and it's certainly more motivating to play when you KNOW that once you gain a new level you will instantly be able to use a powerful weapon.
I wish the storage guy was able to service all your characters, that would be cool to be able to transfer stuff across :)

The problem with that is that I noticed that item level scaling really doesn't work well with that. A high quality item that you find some levels too early was barely ever still interesting by the time we reached that level.

True, I'm thinking the same thing all the time. Well, at least you can give an item to a friend when playing online and then take it back after switching characters (unless, of course, your friend is an asshole).
Well, Deep Silver support have replied and have asked me to send them the key I used, then they'll provide me with a new one so that I can install the game. No idea what happens with the Dark Souls game currently attached to my account though.

Steam Support haven't answered yet.

GAME customer services replied saying sorry for the faulty product, and they've forwarded my email to their returns department.

I've done as Deep Silver asked and sent them the key I used. Wonder how long I'll have to wait for my new key?
