soulgrindr: nope.
Once its verified (1st time). You can select "offline mode" and you'll never have to have an internet connection ever again. (unless you uninstall it and want to re-download it).

Gersen: No, not forever, far from it.
If you reinstall windows you have to let Steam reconnect online to reverify your games.
If you change something significant on your hardware you have to reconnect too.
And of course If you change of computer you also have to reconnect.
Well to be short, exactly line EA securom minus the activation limits... for now.

well, no offense, but thats kind of obvious... if you reinstall windows you have to reinstall everything, so connecting to steam for 10 seconds is probably the least of your worries.
The basic point remains, once you've verified your game (after each install) you never need to connect again. It seems to be a common misconception.
Anyway, back to DoW2... lets move this to the Steam/Impulse thread of need be.
Anyone played DoW2 on a lower spec PC? How does it scale?

At least since the last patch, I'm having performance problems on low setting - with computer, that should be able to run the game on high. Well, it used to be able to anyway... And I've seen more people encountering similar problems over forums. On the other hand, some say it's optimised nicely.. So it would seem performance of this game is purely thing of sheer luck. I'm still having a blast playing it though :D
Note to self: Stop opening this thread, its just tormenting me more...
Hw does the coop campaign work? Just teaming up on the same mission or can each player tackle different missions?
Well co-op campaign is the exactly same thing as solo campaign, but person playing with you controls 2 squads and you control another 2. In solo, you control all 4. Yeah, that's basically it :D
Damn, I was hoping for more of a 2 pronged attack kind of feeling. Good to know its not just doubling your resources though
So i spend my money again....
I am addicted again..
This game gives me back my faith in game industry :)
They said that DoW 2 will be more small fight orientated, after those hours spend ingame i am sure, that DoW 1 wasn't so brutal.
who thinks it's made of awesome?
Hmm, regionally restricted in such a fashion that not even retail versions can be activated outside available regions. Not sold here... Yeah, that's full of awesome alright. Awesome fail.
I've asked if you think game's made of awesome, bitching about distribution is elswhere :-P
SP demo of the Dawn of War 2 released and game's price dropped to $37.49 until April 20th. If you didn't buy the game go and get it.

Oh wait, this title has GFWL crap and limited activations like all GFWL titles, think about this before the buy.

No for me
I can get localised retail version (and play the english version anyways) cheaper than the Steam version (37,49€ (50€ without discount !!!!!) vs. 32,99€ + maybe 3€ delivery fee)
GFWL crap is another no (but that's not Steam's fault).

That steam deal is a great one. I hate the GFWL junk, but the game is an absolute blast to play.
steam deal might be good, but i paid that price for the box copy on day of release
Horrible reviews on Amazon.com, including some well-written detailed ones.
Now that they've FINALLY released a demo (way to get the hype going before release guys), I can give it a go and make sure it won't run on my laptop. That way I can save the money to put towards a computer capable of running it...
