liquidsnakehpks: a bigger bust than this was max payne 3 , ask rockstar , they must be rushing back to gta 5 to recover their loses now
what's even funnier is how Rockstar tried to actually make MP3 a "competitive FPS" by getting it accepted into the cybersport league

bahahah the game is not even in the steam stats , i hope rockstar learns something from this , getting a 85+ rating is not enough :D :D

SimonG: No hope left for Darksiders II ?
Haha, one of my favorite GOG memes.

jamyskis: The fact that it needed 2 million sales to break even is not an indication that it was selling too few copies, but that they spent far too much money making it in the first place...
This. 2+ million copies, and struggling to break even? I call that a mismanagement of resources / funds.

This means THQ will make more Saints Row games more often :(

More like "competitive TPS". But yeah, still funny.
A couple 75% Off sales on Steam and they'll break even or more.

jamyskis: This is the problem with modern development - too many people wanting a slice of the pie. Devs, artists, musicians etc. are a necessity, but then come the overpaid voice actors, the shareholders, the management and so on.
Usually the problem aren't the salaries but ridiculously expensive marketing. AAA publishers are completely idiotic when it comes to this. You end up reading about some publicity stunt that only a few people really witnessed but cost millions - for 99% of the potential customers it's a short article in the press stating "publisher X did something funny" accompanied by a boring photo. Then there's all the gimmicks and bonuses that only reach the people who already are fans anyway etc... marketing is what has really gotten out of hand.
I'd really like to see THQ make a new turn-based strategy game with the 40k universe. Not sure how financially successful that game would be though; not sure there's a big enough market for it. I also read somewhere that Games Workshop had some kind of deal in place to keep THQ from making a turn-based 40k game, which is why they've made all the RTS games instead. This is to keep THQ from potentially taking away any revenue Games Workshop makes from the turn-based board game.

I wish they would port 40K Squad command (PSP version of course) to the PC

I'd buy that for 10 bucks

Remember the time they sent a bunch of copies of ME3 into the atmosphere with balloons and they kept getting stuck in trees? Good times...

olanorig: No WoW character/environment design.
What does this mean?

Don't listen to him

I'm guessing he's one of those people who thinks that "Heavily Stylized/Colourful graphics" = "WoW style"

Darksiders, just like the sequel has amazing art direction and design

Yeah, that's pretty much what I figured. Darksiders did have pretty good design (except for War, who I found completely ridiculous-looking).
I'll take this news with a grain of salt. It's coming from Michael "RTS are turn-based" Pachter after all.
Darksiders 2 is a really good game but it has some issues. Unfortunately it was released before it was ready and it's still buggy.

Roman5: What about the "Day 1 DLC Galore" and the problems at launch?
The only DLC that was available day one were pre-order bonuses. The first proper DLC (Argul's Tomb) came out more than a month after release.

Actually voice actors usually are underpaid, not overpaid. I agree about the rest though.

Qwertyman: I actually bought an XBOX 360 controller for my PC just for those two games.
Unnecessarily. It works fine with mouse and keyboard :).

Yes, i'm one of those people. I don't like "WoW" stylized characters and design.
And I'm no fan of Joe Madureira either.

Listen to me: WoW style is baaaad.
