Darksiders II: critical path play to last “25 plus hours”

http://www.vg247.com/2012/05/23/darksiders-ii-critical-path-walkthrough-to-last-25-hours/

Based on what we know, a PS3 and 360 version are releasing this August, with a PC version sometime out at a later time, just like with the first game, this game will also be a WiiU launch title

I'm really excited for this release, the Original game was great and Darksiders 2 seems like it will completely take the throne of the Action Adventure genre

And that's saying a lot, because the only 2 releases I'm looking forward to this year is This and Sly 4: Thieves in Time

Thoughts, opinions, comments?
My only thoughts is that Darksiders 1 was an excellent game, but there's no way I'm buying the 2 if they force me again to play with a xBox controller.

I have an excellent Logitech Rumblepad 2 and I couldn't use it in Darksiders, making me play on the keyboard... and it was close to awful.

And yes, I tried several xbox controllers emulators (x360ce? i think...) but never got to make it work...

So if they allow "free" controller set-up, that's definitely a game I will keep my eyes on. If not, well, forget about it.

I had similar controller problems, but did get through them, and could probably help. Let me know if you ever feel the need to have another go at it.

Looks fucking awesome. I'll be playing it on its true home... XBox 360!

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind, maybe after i set up my new rig this august...
Traded in Max Payne 3 yesterday, to preorder it. First release of the game comes with a DLC voucher for Arguls Tomb.

I loved DS 1, it was great to have all my favourite gametypes in one game, kinda like Soul Reaver. It had, I think, one of the coolest game endings ever.

No, because of Steam. Otherwise I would be very interested.

According to Steam, the release date is 21/08/12...

Thought the first one was pretty awesome - interesting story, fun gameplay, good graphics and sound (although the cutscenes would have looked quite a lot better in places with less compression and higher resolution), and controlled very well with mouse and keyboard.

I'm definitely looking forward to Darksiders 2, especially after reading about all the additional gameplay elements and other improvements they've made compared to the first.

I need to remember this post when the next console vs PC discussion arises ... ;-P

For like 5 years now it has been a true fact that every PC gamer should have an Xbox controller. It just works. That might not be "right" or whatever, but it is true.

I disagree. I don't know why I should be forced on one brand or another. I'm perfectly satisfied with my Logitech, I don't know why I should buy another product to play a game I want to play.
Ew, gamepads..

Sorry, I had to play most of Darksiders 1 on keyboard and mouse and, while it was somewhat playable, I had to give up at the giant spider boss, because there was no way i could be fast enough on the keyboard...

360 Controller is one of the best peripherals I ever bought for my PC. It has made many games playable for me that were previously just a pipe dream, I cant imagine playing Divinity 2 DKS for example, without a controller.

Hm, I played past that point with mouse and keyboard, until somewhere in that big tower (although the spider was the first occasion where I actually used potions, I think). Should complete the game at some point. I don't really understand why people think mouse and keyboard are inadequate - the only thing that annoys me are somewhat clunky control schemes and combos.
