Seems the spin-off just got released through steam for us PC gamers.
Not sure i approve the 5-machine DRM but wondering if its worth getting?
Wish capcom would also release Megaman 9 and 10 on PC.

It's a $5 game, on STEAM (with it's own brand of DRM) - so why, WHY, the extra DRM?

I agree, it has a SecuRom 5 machine activation limit. The idea of Steam is to be able to take your games in your laptop, desktop or play in another machine but until they get rid of it, or at least they add some kind of "every X time you get a renewal number of installs" I'm not buying, also almost at the same price you can get a greater and more lengthy game here in GOG.

What puzzles me most, is that it's a five dollar game. Extra copy protection? Why? What next? Trying to preserve the virginity of prostitutes who have been turning tricks for the past decade?

Yes but the 8-bit promo game is very much fun ;)

I didn't notice there was DRM until after the fact. DOH!
Anyway, the game is pretty fun. It's similar to 8-bit era bionic commando, except you have a jetpack instead of a grappling arm. The controls are mostly good. It's hard to get your character to shoot in the direction you want sometimes though. This is particularly a problem when flying because you fly in the same direction that you are trying to fire, and it takes your character quite a bit of time to swivel his firing arm around, so sometimes you are already ramming into the enemy before you've gotten your arm in position to fire.
Still, it's an excellent fake retro game. This would have been a classic NES era game if it had been released back then and was just a bit longer. There are only 3 levels. But since a Game Over screen means you will be going back to square one and since the game is really difficult, it will take you awhile before you are good enough to beat them all.

If it wasn't so buggy it would have been good.
As for the $5 NES-style game, I am intrigued but the DRM does put me off. It's funny because despite not liking the DRM of games like Mass Effect or Assassin's Creed 2 I bought them anyway, but with a $5 thing like this it just feels like a slap in the face.

I didn't know it was NES style, I have just heard the new Dark Void game was lackluster.

That is why it helps to know what you are talking about before you bash something :p
And I would actually beg to differ on the Dark Void thing. I didn't notice a single bug (in the demo). I just found the game itself to be fundamentally flawed. Controlling your character in flight was unwieldy, hijacking UFOs was FAR more effort than it was worth, and close quarters combat is just too realistic (ie. it is insanely difficult and everyone you fight is entrenched :p). The bugs didn't affect my enjoyment (or lackthereof) at all.
As for this: If it didn't have the Securom I would probably grab it. I loved Bionic Commando Rearmed, and I suspect I would love this. But I DO have standards :P
