I'm not so sure how well it would translate as a TV series, unless they focus on a ka-tet that is not Rolands.

I think they're doing it like this:
1st film- The Gunslinger
1st season- The Drawing of the Three
2nd film- The wastelands
2nd Season- Wizard and Glass
3rd film- last three books.

The second book in the series, Drawing of the Three, rates as one of my top reads to date and would make a pretty decent film I reckon. I'm not so sure how the rest of the series would translate to the big screen, though.
