So today Fromsoftware gave us a release date for dark souls 2 for pc, April 25th ... I went to steam saw this:

Notice: Purchases made in Argentina are only playable in Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Bahamas, Belize, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Guatemala, Guyana, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru, Paraguay, Suriname, El Salvador, Uruguay and Venezuela.

#"$$##%$%$$&$&& -.-

So I cant buy it cheaper (steam keys for dark souls 2 in many webs are 30$) but with this restriction I cant buy them or else I wont be able to play the game in my region. Hate this, i dont know if it is imposed by steam or the publisher but many games are doing this same thing like south park, thief etc etc

PS: I love how namco bandai lie to us in our faces http://imgur.com/VV9otOD

publisher
https://twitter.com/namcogames/status/441660169949163520 , the last tweet was from 5 march...
But from what I have read, it seems if you can buy the NA (North American) or ROW (Rest Of The World) version from places where the keys are sold (Green Man Gaming, GamersGate, etc...), you can redeem the game in your (our) region without any problem.

This is also for the latest games with that restriction, like METAL GEAR RISING: REVENGEANCE, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2, South Park: The Stick of Truth... The publishers are trying to keep the sales from our region in our region... This really sucks indeed, because we can't gift those games to friends outside our region, in case we buy the games from Steam.

Anyway, this tool maybe can help you: http://www.regionlocks.com

I was going to wait for a sale anyway, so plenty of time for other people to complain and for them to resolve this. :>
how accurate is that web Azrael? I checked USA with Russia and say it was ok, same with Arg en USA or what ever I put, says category 3 always, but according to steam it's not like that :/
I want to buy it from GMG (20% discount voucher)but I'm not sure if its going to work and I highly doubt of having a refund if that's the case

I can't confirm if it is 100% accurate, but in some older games it is. So far, reading in some forums on Steam, the NA versions are "region free", so they can be redeemed anywhere (I read mostly this in the Metal Gear and Castlevania 2 forums. But for this game, the forums are still locked).

Thanks, I will have to wait a little longer then, not buying it until 100% sure.

EDIT: I can buy it from Brazil steam store and will work fine I think the price is not the best but still very good usd36vs50 of normal store (and it is legal and wont have any problem because of the region)
this page I mean http://store.steampowered.com/?cc=br

How does the multiplayer work in the Dark Souls games? I know that it has something to do with players "invading" the worlds of other players while one the single-player campaign, but is it optional, can you play completely offline and ignore that?

you can play the whole game offline, are you missing a lot? not really, I played dark souls 1(120+hours ) on my xbox 360 offline because I hate some of the things of the online gameplay , like being invaded while I was playing the game it just adds more to the game but in a different way and it's a thing that or you love or hate. Like pvp (with lot of delay...at least for me)
Some pros that I can think is the help of other players against a boss for example but I dont like that either, it takes away everything that dark souls is, I mean if something is hard and someone else helps you out when you finish the game it's not the same, you dont get the same sense of accomplishment or seeing a message in the floor and spoils you what is going to happen, yes it will help out but you are spoiling the game in a way, but then again this is just my opinion and it is very subjective .
Dark Souls 2 is going to use dedicated servers I believe so if you don't host one no one will be able to join your game. I never liked quick join/P2P multiplayer anyway so I find the change good but it remains to be seen if the port of the sequel will be better, hopefully this time playing with a mouse and keyboard won't make it harder.

The devs actually apologized for the bad port of Dark Souls 1, they were inexperienced and only ported the game because of the high demand. This time they have been working on the PC version of Dark Souls II from the beginning. So hopefully it will be good. :)
Didn't get South Park because of these region restrictions. Fuck paying the same as the US and getting an inferior product.

What's going to be different about the game in different regions?

This. It's insane. That the European PC version won't be affected makes the censorship even more absurd.
