Seriously guys... A real eTailer takes my money any way I want to give it to them.

Pay Pal is untrustworthy.

My Visa debit lacks the online security features of a real CC, especially my Amex.

I do have an actual Visa, but I just freaking hate using it for at least a dozen reasons.

I love my Amex card. TAKE IT!

....

Okay... I'm gonna buy something but I'm not too pleased with you not taking Amex. It isn't like I'm asking you to accept Diner's Club or something. :-)
I just link my paypal account with my debit card so basically paypal just become an interface to my bank account. This works well as paypal doesn't actually store any of my funds and therefore can be trusted. They can't just go into my account and take money otherwise it counts as stealing and I can always reverse the transaction at the bank.
Take my HBC card. Seriously.
Apparently, Amex charges too much for each transaction. Same goes for Discover. It's the reason that those cards aren't accepted everywhere in the States.

About 3x the cut compared to Visa or MC.

I love a good Henny Youngman reference :-)

Anyway, I just bought SMAC and Flatout.

I'm not gonna not buy at GoG over what CCs they take, but I wish they'd take Amex (and Discover, for that matter)

Why should they? They already have a small profit margin and you want bloodsucking CCs like Amex and Discover to cut into that as well? Hell no.
I'm wondering what the chances would be anyone using it, if Gog decided to include them, but charged a transaction fee if you used them to cover their extra expenses.

That might be against AmEx's merchant agreement. Mastercard and Visa certainly don't allow surcharges for using their cards. It's why we have such workarounds as "cash discounts".

Because it serves the customer's best interests.

I don't know why you think Amex and Discover are bloodsucking. Sure, they charge a vaguely higher merchant fee, but they offer me a far superior level of service than any bank card can, and in any economic transaction (sorry about this) I am the most important party. That should be every consumer's attitude. Business should always be the consumer's bitch.

I, like you, appreciate what GoG does, so I used my Visa. I hate my Visa card issuer, and the only reason I haven't canceled my Visa account is because I need a card for those exceptionally rare instances where I can't use my Amex.

If GoG sold T-Shirts, or pet supplies, or anything other than what they do... their lack of support for my card of choice would have resulted in a no sale. They happen to be in a rare niche market that I care about, and they are small and struggling to grow, so I cut them slack that I'd never show to Steam or EA or Amazon or... well, almost any other company.

I'm not making a demand here, just saying it would be better for me. It doesn't make any truly significant impact in their margin, and in fact opens them up to a potentially wider base of consumers.

Amex... Discovery...

If they start taking them ill start paying in woodchips...

I expect my payment method would be available first.
