I was wondering if anyone was aware of a way to mod or configure Daggerfall to eliminate the swipe to attack control scheme?

Ideally, it would be replaced buttons that represent the various attacks. I always found the swipe to attack mechanism interesting, but it's hard to play on a laptop and inconvenient when playing on a small surface (e.g. fold down table).

Any suggestions are appreciated!

I'll see if there is a mod, but this advices that issues arise from changing the attack button.
i'll add my post here as its along the same line.

i have daggerfall loaded on my samsung galaxy s4 using dosbox turbo.

it runs fine.

my problem is there is no key combination to duplicate holding down the mouse button 2 and moving the mouse.

so here is this great game on my smartphone and i cannot do combat!

Hopefully someone will see this and add light!

thanks in advance
I don't have DOSBox Turbo but the documentation indicates that there are various modes available for simulating a right click. It can also emulate a joystick (which Daggerfall does support) so that is another possible solution.
I'd say wait for DaggerXL but at this point who knows when that damn thing is coming out.
thanks.

there is a way to rt/l click and a way to hold the click down, but no way to do all that and move the mouse.

i've tried the joystick but with little success. prolly me, not dosbox turbo.

I'm curious. do you know w/ dosbox or just on a computer and using a joystick, if you rt click and hold, does the joystick complete the attack?

I've never done it but i believe a usb or bluetooth mouse works with my phone. that may be my answer.
got everything working on my galaxy s4! sweet!! all my problems were due to my learning curve.

double rt click and hold your finger down on the second click and the sword does its deal.

default single click opens doors etc. fix was easy…i faced the hidden door instead of the fake looking one! lol… then worked like a charm.

i did get a blue tooth keyboard for my phone(logitec) and have a logitec mouse coming. really cool using a keyboard on my phone. painless install. suppose to be very long battery life. i will find out.
Is this game even worth playing if you have Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim?

As someone who played Morrowind and Oblivion before playing Daggerfall (haven't gotten around to Skyrim yet)... in my opinion, no. :P
It might be interesting to try it out, just to get a feel for the roots of the series, but aside from the very detailed character creation process, I didn't really find it very enjoyable. The intro cinematic was kinda cool too, I guess.

For a frame of reference, I liked Oblivion in spite of its flaws, and I think Morrowind may be one of the best games I've ever played (in spite of its flaws. heh)

Do you play Ultima Underworld? Than you'll like this.

Factions are numerous, customization is endless, This RPG has some much content its along the lines of ongoing MMOs.

Yeah, I've played Ultima Underworld and I enjoyed it very much.
try it and see. its free. how can you lose, and their is a strong community still playing it.

beyond the dated graphics, the gameplay is at least as good as Morrowind and Oblivion. not played skyrim yet.

most importantly, its the second in the history of these games, and the model nearly all frp's have used ever since!

the area it covers is larger than any of the last three, the detail is prolly richer.

and the cool deal is… i'm playing it on my smartphone!!!
