Crosmando: Well according to the interview they have been developing this game for two years this April, so it looks more like this was their "big" project and they used the adventure games as side-projects to keep them going. Or that's my speculation.
I don't know. Their primary focus was always adventure games. This RPG project is their first, as far as I know. I see it this way: they started this project few years back to "try something new", but didn't really have enough money to do it seriously.

Big success of their newest games gave them money to devote into many projects at once. Even now, they are creating at least 3 different adventure games and this RPG.

It's pretty impressive, especially when it's almost certain that their adventure games will be top notch. Especially that "rabbit" one looks promising.
PC Gamer's preview of Blackguards:

I got this answer from Daedalic support:

"Blackguards is scheduled to be released on GOG simultaneously with the worldwide Steam and the box release on 24th January 2014."

I'd love to say insta-buy, but I'm going to have to say insta-wish list for this one. It's too soon after the sales and I have *many* new games to play.

Thats great.But.
Im actually a bit concerned views are really mixed on the early access for the game atm. Some say its great. Others say gameplay mechanics are a bit broken . :/
I would love to get their new game, but I'm not going to buy anything from Daedalic again until they release the German version of Goodbye Deponia here.

They still have time to fix it. Thanks to early access at least we won't receive a complete disaster like X-Rebirth :D
I so bloody miss the Drakensang series. Shame that Radon Labs went belly up. They actually did a good job with The Dark Eye universe. Now we have to be content with adventure games ( Chains od Satinav and Memoria ), aRPG ( Demonicon ), remakes ( Realms of Arkania HD ) and a hybrid TBS/RPG ( Blackguards ).

And as a question, why the hell the Drakensang series are not on GOG?! Those titles belong here.

I have Drakensang Complete Saga and I'm playing it now. Much to much surprise I enjoy it a lot. Since it's already DRM free it will be more than welcome on gog. Actually it's already voted on the wishlist and I suppose that it's not hear yet only because of some obscure legal matters.
I'm glad that people are still stumbling over the Drakensang series. Those titles deserved a better treatment than the one they had...:(

Yes, it's a true hidden gem that deserves much more praise than it gets. And stumbling it's the right word because it was completely under my radar which is a shame.

Probably since it includes the soundtrack if that listing is accurate
