I just remebered I had some games on D2D and now I find out they went to Gamefly and I cannot download or even log in now...
Ya, unless you downloaded all your D2D games before the Dec 31st you're pretty much screwed unless they were all brand new games.

Out of the 10 or so D2D games I owned, only 1 shows up in the Gamefly client as available 3 months after the switch.

I didn't have any trouble logging in however.

You have to request a password reset to be able to log in, I think.

It still sucks balls. Not to mention most of the games are now region locked.

Try using this link: http://www.gamefly.com/activity/purchase-history/d2ddownloads/1/. All my D2D purchases that's not available in the client yet can be downloaded there.

I expect a class action lawsuit as direct to drive sold unlimited free downloads as a feature of the sale.

In short, they have an obligation to maintain those fitles.

PS, fuck IGN.

And if such a lawsuit succeeds then D2D/Gamefly will receive a bit of financial hurt, the lawyers involved will make out like bandits, and the actual plaintiffs will receive something like a $2 voucher for use on Gamefly. Class action suits are basically about punishing companies, not about providing any kind of meaningful restitution to the class involved. Trying to get things righted after the fact pretty much always fails in these kinds of situations- rather, assume from the beginning that you're going to get screwed at some point, then take whatever measures are necessary beforehand to ensure that whatever gets pulled has a minimal impact on you.

Thanks for that. That "D2D Download" tab wasn't there a few weeks ago when last checked.
Well, I had the D2D dl'd before and I found it but it asked to connect to the internet for the active-mark crap and it just keeps on saying cannot connect when I am actually online. so basically my games are nothing but a digital paperweight now. I can only remember about three game and two are here on GOG.com. Patrician III & Port Royale. Tortuga is not on GOG.com. Make it so bad that is all I can remember without actually logging into D2D/Gamefly.
Yeah, Mass Effect 2 is not available to me yet. When would I want to replay that game? February 2012? That's right, but it wasn't available. They say it's not their fault but I will never, ever buy from them in the future.
Huh, just checked it out, and the one D2D game I had I can still download (AirStrike 3D II).

Weird, wouldn't have thought that would be a game they'd keep...

I have no idea if this game would show up in the GameFly client though, as I didn't bother installing that. Found it here, as told by Catshade:
http://www.gamefly.com/activity/purchase-history/d2ddownloads/

From the FAQ:
ACTIVATION INFORMATION: Some games are still being uploaded to the GameFly Client and thus may not show under the D2D Downloads tab. Those will require a download from the GameFly Client in order to activate - these may not be available at this time. If your game was already uploaded to the GameFly Client, do not re-download from the D2D Download tab. Any Publisher Keys continue to be located on your Purchase History page under Store Purchases.

i fortunately have all 4 of my games from them... but that is fucked up big time. also shows you how digital downloads are dangerous. a company changes hands and bam. no more games for you fuckers!

I have found in my life that the important thing in life is to ensure that justice is served, even if it's not served well. In an ideal world for example, you would be guarenteed your D2D purchases, or someone that struck an unmarked pothole would have their wheel replaced.

If in the real world, you have to settle for the company selling the games to have to pay out much more to the lawyers in the class action suit than they could have spent fixing the problem, or you take the city to small claims court just to force them to incur costs, than so be it. Eye for an eye.

You you'd go to the trouble of suing the city just to make them pay, instead of simply making a call to your insurance company?

Or does car insurance not work the same way in Canada as it does in the U.S.?

Insurance claim = higher premiums.
I have 16 games on GameFly and only 4 were available up until a week ago. Now it's ... 6.

That link above does help but really, it's too late. As someone said, I wanted to replay ME2 which I had bought on D2D as well and I couldn't.
