Thanks, Wec. Just realized that myself.

dragonmaster: It seems that they don't care about getting customers from outside North America.

Do the D2D titles have DRM and can the Dl's be archived and installed when ever where ever without an internet connection EG: Future proofed?

D2D has install limits on every title, so that answers both questions really.

Yep, that's why you only buy titles that are on sale at a great price - and even then why you should only buy titles you don't care passionately about.
On a side note: Bansama, are you game to give this regional restriction a test?

I'd consider getting Saints Row 2 for that reason, if it wasn't for the fact they're shoving their regional price-fixing right in my face. I mean seriously now? A UK version just so they can up the price?
Just a note of caution on Saints Row 2. While I enjoy the game a lot it has two rather serious faults. Firstly THQ have dropped all support for the PC version, there will be no further patches (despite there being game breaking bugs) and no DLC that the console versions are enjoying. And its free DLC which is even more insulting. The other thing is it crashes a lot with no explanation and no error logs. Be prepared to save after every single completed mission or activity otherwise you will be playing whole sections again.
If you can overlook these problems then you will find a game that is more like GTA Vice City than GTA 4. The car handling is great with a Joypad, there is a brilliant soundtrack and there are no stupid friend missions that distract you like GTA4. It also has some truly laugh out loud comedy moments, something that GTA4 was missing.

I suppose it might be worth trying, but it's most likely they have restricted activation of both and I have a feeling that available no_cd/no_dvd fixes won't work. Still, if you want to give it a go, email me. (Same name as here over at gmail).
i got Chronicles of Riddick, it has TAGES I believe, and required an online activation by inputting hte product code, getting back an activation code which you then had to put into the game to activate it.

The retail version had Tages, limited to 3 activations (and no revoke tool. The Tages vendor stated in no uncertain terms that there would NEVER be a revoke tool for their DRM utility, btw.) I have read, however, that you can contact them and they'll give you more without much hassle or grief. (As an aside, Atari representatives on the Atari forums stated that it will be patched out in the future, I've been periodically checking up on the status and poking them about it. As far as I'm aware, it's not gone yet, despite the fact the game has supposedly been cracked).
Anyway, interesting info on that. Thanks for posting it.
One final aside for this post: Bansama and I are testing the gifting scenario to see if it works (he's in a region-locked area and cannot buy the game himself). We'll update this in case anyone is interested in getting some of the region-locked games gifted to them.

To me, tages sounds like some kind of infestation. Like mites or something like that. Appropriate, really.

And for the record, Riddick works perfectly. No problems in activating so the regional restriction for this game at least, is purely at point of purchase.
Okay, for what it's worth to you folks out there, Bansama and I have tested both Riddick (as noted in the previous post) and Serious Sam Gold. Both worked for him as gifted games, even though he's region-locked from buying them.
Of course, there's no guarantee that every game will work, but this is an encouraging indicator. So, for those who are region locked from the D2D sale, if you have a friend that's willing to buy them for you, having them gifted to you could well be an option.
