bansama: NO worries. I'm just pissed because I actually wanted Dark Athena. Bloody Atari scum.

Coelocanth: Does D2D allow gifting of games like Steam does? I looked around and couldn't see anything. If it does, let me know and we can definitely work something out, Bansama. :)

They say sometimes gifting is allowed. Sometimes, since they don't always tell you on the game page.
"Please Note: Thief: Deadly Shadows does not support play on laptop computers."
Anyone know what that's about?

Its the usual 'Laptop chipsets are not supported' guff that most publishers use. http://forums.eidosgames.com/showthread.php?t=37032

No idea if they allow cross region gifting, but if you add the game to your cart and it allows gifting, it'll display "gift this game" or something smilar in the cart. And just to piss me off further, Serious Sam Gold is, in fact, regionally restricted too.
If you wouldn't mind testing whether both games could be gifted cross region I'd appreciate it as that is something I've always wondered about. Of course, we could arrange something as far as payment. Either money via PayPal or a $9.99 GOG games, etc.
However, if you are willing to try this, it would probably be best to attempt this one game at a time (in case they decide to take your money then not allow the gift be sent or something crazy).
Bansama, looks like both can be gifted. I found a link that explains gifting, but it doesn't say anything about regional restrictions. What I think I'll do is toss their Customer Support an e-mail and ask them outright. I'll let you know the results.
Okay, got a reply from D2D:
Some games will not activate if they see an IP Country that is not supported. I cannot recommend you buy for someone who is in a country the game is not offered in.

So looks like it's a total crap shoot.

Huh, weird. Never seen that before. Oh well, I'll get it used for xbox instead. TYFT.

Sounds about bloody typical for D2D to be that anal with restrictions.

yes, because obviously they want to do less business than they possibly could. These types of sites are usually restricted by obscure publishing (as in developer/publisher side) rights from region to region rather than desire to sell.

I have a few games that say that about not being supported by laptop chipsets. But they do work on a modern laptop with the newer integrated graphic sets like the ATI HD3100/3200 or Intel 4500MHD. Now getting them to work in Vista is another problem.

bansama: Except that Saints Row 2 is restricted to NA and the UK only and Assault on Dark Athena is NA only.

Post ratings systems ALWAYS get abused. GOG's one will probably go out of the window as the site grows. Either that or we'll turn into Gamespot MKII.

None of the TheCheese33's posts are flagged as 'low rated' at my end.
Am i missing something here ?
Edit: Nevermind, just figured out people repped him back up.
