Apparently D2D is having an anniversary promo much like GOG had just recently. Theyre offering several games in groups per week, all at $ 5 each. For this week, some of their titles are interesting to me, like Empire Earth, Far Cry, and Warhammer. Thing is, anyone know if the games at D2D have DRM? And are they regional based priced?

If the game is DRM free, they make that very clear with a little logo which looks like this. The regional pricing I have no idea about, but I'm guessing its universal.

Yes, all of their games have DRM. In fact, they're so stuffed with DRM, you can hardly breath. I ain't buying any of their games and I really don't care if it means I'll be several years behind. If I want a new game really badly, I go to a store so I can have a physical copy. Otherwise you're at their mercy. They'll let you play/give you another license/let you download... or not. Most of the time, however, I just choose another type of entertainment for myself. I hope the corporations will soon see DRM is not the way to go.

Ahh, maybe you can answer a question I have then. I contacted D2D support, but they have yet to respond.
Basically I wanted to know exactly how DRM free their DRM free games actually are. I assume that it much like GOG, but I wanted to make sure that it didn't require online authentication during the install process.
After all everybody seems to have a different idea about what constitutes as DRM and I was a little concerned that perhaps D2D merely meant these products did not have any third party DRM attached.

Cogs is literally ZIP file, inside which is an installer EXE (which actually just unpacks the game). Once its uncompressed, the folder can be moved around and everything, its stand-alone. It didn't contact the net, it didn't need a code, nothing. Its as DRM free as the games on GOG.

Yes, I do. However, the ones you buy on-line tend to be more stuffed with it. The most curious thing is that they stuff additional DRM into old games, too. It's funny.
Try Electronic Arts on-line store and prepare yourself to be shocked at the amount of DRM. For example, you can only download the game a few times and only within a year and after that time they force you to pay more money. It's LOL. You don't have these problems with physical copies.

Does D2D still have their own obnoxious activation servers with limited activations? I'm not talking about games with publisher-added DRM. I'm talking about DRM that is added by D2D, on top of publisher DRM.
That was a major turn-off last time I used that site.

Oh they're not ripping off the deal, just the idea of an anniversary sale. GOG did invent that didn't they?
Wasn't really anything of interest there that I already didn't own. Might be something in the upcoming weeks but I probably won't remember to go back & look
