so, many eons ago I've came across this demo of a Czech adventure game J.U.L.I.A, and I really liked it! but the game itself was still in development, and I've completely forgot about it...

until now :) the Groupees bundle includes it so I've immediately bought it and started playing...

and it is really good! it tells a story of a scientist Rachel who's woken up by an artificial intelligence JULIA aboard an abandoned spaceship, and she needs to find out where's everybody and what happened.

the game doesn't excell in graphics (mostly just static pictures or short animated loops) but the story is really catchy so far, the exploration of surroundings (and other planets) and dialogues are mixed with logical/puzzle challenges from time to time, and it's kept me playing for quite a while now (I should go to bad... ;)

anyhow, how come this game didn't get any attention when it was released last year? it has many qualities, most of the dialogues are narrated (and it sounds fine to me), the story is great, the atmosphere is fine... you should try! :o)

(and if a minimum fee, one dollar, is still too much for you to pay for the bundle, try the demo please)

hopefully somebody will be as glad as I am to discover this little game!

EDIT: typos, typos, typos... I REALLY should get some sleep now...

Interesting, I'll have to pick up a copy then. Now, I just need to figure out how to type in Czech, MS, has got to be the cheapest OS maker out there, everybody else includes proper localization in all their copies.

EDIT: Sale is apparently now over.

the game is in English, or is there something else that was a problem?

and EDIT: damn... sorry I'm late :( but you can still try the demo!

Nah, it's something else. MS wants a ridiculous amount of money for Czech localization.

And yeah, I'll probably try the demo.
I didn't like it that much. The story/atmosphere was a good start, but gameplay is awful in my opinion. It's just a set of irritating puzzles.

And it's SHORT! I completed the whole thing in about 2 hours...

You must be good at puzzles then! I couldn't even do the first electric circuit one. 2 hours of gameplay is very short indeed.

Oh, yay. Glad I got this in the bundle yesterday. lol

Well, at some point masochistic me will get around to it and try my hand anyway I guess.
so, finished yesterday...

not very long, but just long enough for this kind of game. some of the puzzle were really great, the story unfolded quite nicely... I'd say, best spent dollar in the long time!
