I have found it today and it looks wonderful. I can't wait to try this. Anyone else interested in soothing his oldschool cyberpunk itch? :)

Wow, that looks awesome. I don't know about the $25 deluxe edition but I'm definitely interested in at least getting the game!

Also curious just how much of a text adventure it is. It's being made in Unity, after all.

Javier here, one of the developers. I don't want to do self promotion here but the game is so great I will just go ahead and take a chance by answering your questions. If an admin thins it is inappropriate, please erase the message and send me to the dungeons.

The game is a full text adventure, just that we revamped the GUI into something unique no one has ever tried before. We use on screen items, on screen effects and other little things like sounds and background music along with the text.

You'll even get little raindrops on the screen when it's raining at the Harajuku market.

A guy at our facebook page just won a free copy guessing who the guy in the attached photo was. The contest was "WHO IS THIS GUY WALKING IN FRONT OF DOGERON?" (Dog is the main character of the story).

It has A LOT to do with classic games so you may find it funny/cool.

Thanks again for the interest and if I may add, GOG pushed us in doing this game (indirectly), we never thought classic games would sell so well and that's exactly one of the reasons we went with a text adventure.

That's it for me.
Cheers!
JC

I love indies, who present their work, like nothing happened in the genre for two/three decades, until they came, and imply you must be grateful and pay them, whatever they ask. I'll stick to freebies like http://www.leadlightgame.com/ and http://www.joltcountry.com/index.php/robbsherwin_videogame/cryptozookeeper

Might pick this one up, if it's bundled.

Also, kinda weird that so much stress is put on art in a text adventure game. Where are the writing samples, room descriptions, arsing around?

Thanks for the response. Sounds like quite the experience! I guess I need to watch the Facebook though. Free copies are always awesome. :)

Welcome to the GOG forums bro. Don't worry, self-promotion isn't an issue here. In fact, I think I speak for the majority when I say that we welcome devs with open arms, and if the game is good and worth-looking at (and I think it is, having first seen it at IndieGames.com), all the better.

But what's wrong with Javier's post? Guys are clearly proud of their own game which looks complete, fun and polished, unlike other projects

I wrote my comment before his post appeared, going by the website. So much about art, so little about writing.

No idea what's wrong with you, pal. Honest. The game is a text adventure, it has text all over it. You seem angry about something. I apologize I said something that offended you, just trying to be friendly.

OHHHH wait wait, was about the price? too expensive? yeah some people told us that, but they ended up buying the game anyway. The text adventure crowd is (for the most part) honestly proud of buying a game that has so much work behind (digital feelies, effects, etc).

We are not planning selling CYPHER through bundles though. Not ever. Reason to be is we are evil indies who happen to want to exchange their work for money ;) MUahahah! --evil laugh---

Hope you can give it a run somewhere in the future mate ;-)

Cheers everyone! have a nice Sunday!

I just love that attitude! :) Keep the good work up guys!

THANKS! I really appreciate the spirit! had a harsh night, didn't slept at all answering emails and doing some interviews you may read later.

Glad we're not the only ones in the world who think SOME (not all, SOME) Kickstarter projets are inches away from becoming a world wide scam.

Carlos did some of the artwork for section 8, the upcoming Aliens colonial marines, F.E.A.R and others AAA titles. I'm a web design star (well sort of). The two of us could have easily made a 10m video saying how awesome our project could be if you just gave us all your money upfront.

But we didn't. We worked hard for almost 7 months. No life, no friends, low budget. We finished the game, we are selling it complete. Full. Final.

That's how it should be if you ask me. All this "give me money I will give you a game 2 years from now" sounds strange to me. But what do I know. I'm 30. I'm old already.

Must be that "new way" kids talk so much about.

I like old school. DO the game, then sell it. Hell, I like old school so much I still have a mouse pad even when I don't need it anymore. Why? because it has a Batman pic in it (Frank Miller).

EDIT: I need to sleep. Haven't slept in 48hs. Honest, 48hs hours. Will I die? please answer.

So, will you consider offering it to GOG?

Not at the moment, we just launched on Friday! let us try the amazing experience of selling the game through our own site first. Its any indie dev wet dream! But yes, eventually, if things go right (which look like they will).

A LINUX version was planned but Unity3d is just not very good at Linux yet. (just a note)

Great. Can one see this text somewhere other that the trailer full of exciting typing action, please? 99% of text on the game's page is adverts and feature lists, all the art is just standalone art. I don't think even the trailer shows a single full screenshot of the game - it's all closeups and blinking.
So far it looks like a re-imagining of The Worm in Paradise by Level 9: text with supporting graphics, cybepunk-ish setting, living world with NPCs, a smattering of virtual reality. Can the main character temporarily sell his organs for cash? :)

^___^ It took 1893AWFM only 9 years to make the jump.

My friend, I don't know why you are so desperately trying to boycott our game. Honestly, I can't think of a reason why someone would be so in a hurry to trash an indie game that badly. We don't think we are better than any other text adventure out there if that's what's bothering you. We are just proud of having ours getting so much attention right now and that's about it.

Really. You... you... oh forget it grviper! forget it!

*runs away crying*

No because he's on the run. But you can get inside one of the Pleasure-Booths at the Harajuku's Market and spend a few moments (sweet, sweet moments) with one of the girls.

Did I mentioned they have four breasts?

That's one more than Total Recall.

And how do you have time for that when you are being chased by a group of assassins?

The answer is simple:

There is always time for a short visit to the Pleasure-Booths.
