eabarth: I simply copied over my first post above about being intrigued, the plot and setting sounding fantastic, and my concerns about the grammar and requesting some samples of the fixed text.
I tried to go back to see if I got a response because I have the money and the desire to play the game, but when I tried to log in, it said "permission denied." After resetting my password and that not working, I tried making a new account, when I was told that registration from my IP address was disabled.
So none of that has been fixed yet?I tried to go back to see if I got a response because I have the money and the desire to play the game, but when I tried to log in, it said "permission denied." After resetting my password and that not working, I tried making a new account, when I was told that registration from my IP address was disabled.

I'm not willing to pursue the matter of my IP ban further. I know when to give up.
As for the matter of the game's terrible grammar issues, I suppose we can't be certain that they were truly fixed unless we pay the $15/copy. It's not a gamble I would take given the odds.
You know, a couple of days ago, I would have been willing to go through the game's script and copyedit for grammar and sense, since it's my job, I'm good at it, and I'm a huge fan of both text adventures and cyberpunk fiction. But their strange approach of ignoring the issues and silencing dissenters has pretty much damned their own project, in my eyes. It's a great model of what not to do if your game has serious issues post-launch.
They also respond to criticism about the grammar everywhere they can, offering their 35% off offers, as if it makes sense that anyone would want to pay them at all with the grammar being so bad. In addition, they never mention (until you read the fine print at the bottom of the sale page) that the 35% off only applies to the deluxe package of the game, meaning that the cheapest you can get the game is still $15.
I can't believe these guys are going around bullying people for pointing out flaws in their game, silencing customers who actually want to pay for it, and using cheap car salesman tactics to empty people's wallets. Their actions at every step of the way tell me that they just want to rip people off.

Well, that's a shame. I really do look forward to a good cyberpunk game. Oh well, I suppose. :/
CD Projekt RED always has their project just around the corner.

This is currently 50% off, and I finally took a chance with it. I'm only in the first room and it's already frustrating and illogical. The parser is painful to use - one of the first items you get is a note which says "this is an electronic note that needs to be turned on". But "Turn on note" doesn't work. You have to "turn note on". And then instead of just displaying the note it won't let you do anything until you "turn note off". You can't go "n" or even "north", but have to "go north". "go n" doesn't work either. You start in a room with a locked door (freely unlockable) to the south. You can't just "go south" and have it unlock, open the door and go through it. You have to unlock it. Then open it. Then go through it. And you can't do that with "unlock door" either, it has to be "unlock south door".
These are my complaints after literally five minutes of playing. Maybe once I get used to the inconsistencies it'll be better, but coming from this straight after playing Trinity is an exercise in abject frustration.
Looks nice, though.

I wouldn't have even gotten that far. I don't know why people would subject themselves to reading such poorly written text just to see some pretty pictures.
