Heya all, I have been eyeballing that Deadpool game, and I was curious if anyone here has played it. I was kind of interested in picking it up since I am a huge fan of the comics. I was just curious about the positives and negatives about it, so I can make an accurate assessment to if I want to purchase it. I have been researching it, but that can only take me so far without spoiling it. So if anyone here has played it and cares to give their 2 cents about it, I would love to hear. :) Thank you for your time...
It's not bad, the gunplay is a lot like high moon's Transformers games only with more limited ammo, and the hand to hand combat is quite fun, not as tight as say, Batman, but pretty good. It's consistently cranked to 11 in every respect with absurd scenarios, crass humor and Deadpool never ever shutting up, in fact it can feel a little much at times but on the whole I think it's definitely worth checking out.

If you're a fan of the character in any way it's definitely a no brainer.

Can't link it since I'm at work, but check Youtube for the Angry Joe review. I think he gives it a pretty fair assessment.
I've seen enough people play the game.

Here's the short version: If you're looking for an experience, an insight into Deadpool as a character, this will do you nicely. If you're looking for a game with complexity and challenge, this won't be it.

It is just a typical hack and slash with a lot of humor thrown in. It won't change the world of gaming forever or anything like that but if you like Hack and slash games & are a fan of Deadpool (which you are) then you should find some enjoyment from it.

Thank you to everyone for your thoughts and opinions. I may just coin toss it since I've heard both good and bad here and others I've asked, but this reminds me of the comics the more I look into it, so I may just say what the hell and give it a go. :) Again, thank you all.
I'm not a fan of comics, and I especially hate superheros. I do however like the idea of a character who doesn't shut up. I also don't mind simple and shallow action games from time to time. I might eventually get this one myself at some point after a price drop, so I have a couple questions to add.

1) How enjoyable will the characters and story be if I have no prior knowledge of them?
2) How is the level design? I play fewer and fewer action games these days because I'm getting tired of boring super linear level design. I can do super linear, and I can do boring, but I can no longer do them together, regardless of how good the gameplay and story are.

While I can't answer the second question, the first is pretty much an emphatic yes. The thing about Deadpool (at least) is that he is over the top and nutty like a cartoon character in terms of personality. He is a delightful blend of a personality that is over the top, manicky, snark, sarcastic, intelligent, ego-centric, sociopathic, and hilarious all at the same time. :) I am poorly expressing his level of awesome, but he is not difficult to understand and enjoy as a character.
Positives: Humor and characters.

Negatives: Gameplay.
