MobiusArcher: I'm not a fan of comics, and I especially hate superheros. I do however like the idea of a character who doesn't shut up. I also don't mind simple and shallow action games from time to time. I might eventually get this one myself at some point after a price drop, so I have a couple questions to add.
1) How enjoyable will the characters and story be if I have no prior knowledge of them?
2) How is the level design? I play fewer and fewer action games these days because I'm getting tired of boring super linear level design. I can do super linear, and I can do boring, but I can no longer do them together, regardless of how good the gameplay and story are.
While I can't answer the second question, the first is pretty much an emphatic yes. The thing about Deadpool (at least) is that he is over the top and nutty like a cartoon character in terms of personality. He is a delightful blend of a personality that is over the top, manicky, snark, sarcastic, intelligent, ego-centric, sociopathic, and hilarious all at the same time. :) I am poorly expressing his level of awesome, but he is not difficult to understand and enjoy as a character.
