Amen to that. :D
Downloading now. Comes at 1.30 Mbytes/sec (ie. the full speed my home 10Mbit/s ADSL can provide I think), the size is little over 3 gigabytes I think.

I told boss I'll be working from home at least in the morning (I have to visit somewhere around noon anyway, I go back to work after that), hence I could stay home to initiate the download. It seems I fret over nothing anyway, for some reason I was expecting it to be 15+ gigabytes in size like other games, and coming down slowly. But it will probably take less than an hour to download.

Here are the specs, if you DARE *evil laugh*
Played it like 30 minutes or so, the crashed airplane level. _IF_ this multiplayer beta represents at all what to expect from the single-player game, I guess it will work fine on my laptop too. Seemed to run like Crysis 2 basically, and frankly I didn't notice it would look any better either? It looks ok, but I think I could have easily mistaken it to earlier Crysis games for example, albeit I wasn't comparing them side by side.

At 1920x1080 resolution, I set everything at "Very high" except disabling edge antialising altogether (as I feel it isn't really worth the performance hit), and it seemed to run quite fine, maybe in the 30fps range? (sorry, no FRAPS so my eyes could be deceiving me, but it felt totally playable to me as far as the graphics go.) Maybe for the multiplayer I'd set e.g. shadows and post-processing to medium to make it smoother.

Earlier Crysis games also had an "Ultra" setting for graphics, which seems to be missing here. Does it come only if you have powerful enough machine?

The only thing is that mouse movement felt a bit laggy, as if there is a tiny lag between me moving the mouse and the view changing. Basically it felt somewhat like playing streaming FPS games in OnLive. I presume this is due to lag to Crysis 2 multiplayer servers?

I think some of the enemy players were wondering how I was just staring at the scenery and smelling roses as they were freely shooting at me... I didn't check if there is an option to play the levels without participating in multiplayer.

I got the Nvidia GTX 560ti (which I bought for BF3 and Witcher 2) so that narrows it down.
Origin gives keys for free, check your clients.
Thank you for the link, going to try it out :) Any opinions on Crysis 3 Beta so far?

Yes.

Maybe I didn't talk too much about the game content itself... seems like normal military online shooter, I couldn't tell the difference from playing MW3 online earlier when it was running free for a weekend on Steam. Not maybe my cup of tea overall, I'm mostly just interested in single-player content in Crysis 3.

I'd like to hear comments also from others about the technical details. I think I was expecting too much because of this Youtube-video. On the other hand I am delighted that at least according to this beta, the game should be fully playable on my PC too.

Unless the single-player game will be much more demanding than this multiplayer beta...

Crysis 3 Full keys, or these beta keys (which I didn't expect to cost anything anyway)?

Thanks for the input my friend. Much appreciated (: I see the input lag still hasn't disappeared, it had this problem in the closed Beta also. What graphics card do you have?

Crysis 3 Beta Key...

*shrug* your loss, Origin doesn't do anything steam or any of the other nonGOG platforms do, it's EULA is actually more relaxed...

I'm playing it on an ASUS G75VW laptop which has a GeForce NVidia GTX 670M (mobile) graphics chipset. Not that powerful compared to gaming desktops I presume, but I found it ok at least for this beta.

Good to hear the input lag was not only my machine then... :) It reminded me of playing e.g. STALKER on OnLive, where there is some input lag inherent to the streaming OnLive service.

Unfortunately my PC is too weak to Crysis 3. How many of you have the same problem? Is there anything i can do to solve this out?

Yes. Buy a new PC.
