What a fucking cliché boring bloody setting. Then again, this is probably to accommodate antiquated console hardware which should be in a museum by now. Lush jungles are far more difficult to render than big grey blocks after all. Oh well.

If you get to blow up Trump Tower it'll be worth it.
Forget I ever said that.

Do it. Throw in Statue of Liberty, Empire State, Madison Square Gardens, Grand Central Station, ....ahh crap. Just take off, and nuke it from orbit. It's the only way to be sure ;)

I wonder if the buildings will fall apart as easily as the ones in the first game? :P

The buildings in the first game weren't made of butter, they were made of souffles. In this game, the buildings will be made of... oh god this is mean.

Aliasalpha: Cities? It seems that every game set in a modern setting is either set in new york or imitation new york, go somewhere different damnit

Wishbone: Yeah, how about Copenhagen? That'd be different :-D
Actually, that'd be awesome. Now I wanna play GTA Copenhagen. Too bad that'll never happen :-(

It should be set in the 16th century and have you jacking wagons

Ox carts. And palanquins. How the hell would you jack one of those anyway? :-D

michaelleung: WIth a musket!

That's not really the point. If you jack a palanquin, you have to persuade the guys carrying it to continue doing so. Granted, a musket is a great persuasion tool, but most likely you can't even see the guy(s) carrying the rear end. All they have to do is let go and leg it. Your ass will hit the ground, and by the time you've gotten out of the thing and sorted out your musket, they'll be around the nearest corner. It's a conundrum...

Although I love the jungles too, I'm looking forward to it on the city.
It will have grey blocks with procedural destruction and procedural physics. So be sure to buy the PC edition to get the best of it. ;)
I loved the original Far Cry (yeah, i didn't mind Trigens), i didn't really like Crysis though, it was a bit too short, and ended on a miniboss, i've felt like the sharewares were back again. And, well, Crysis didn't let me be as diverse as Far Cry did. I do hope Crysis 2 will be a little more open on that matter. A city is always a nice premise, but usually ends up a a closed environment, like, hmm... FEAR2. All doors locked, what used to be a passage is now blocked by a crashed airplane and such. But if, (and considering it's EA, IF is a very exaggerated term) they make the worldmap a bit more open, with a lot of offices, rooms, toilets, parking lots, the game would be awesome, i'd love to play MP on a map with a few large buildings in which most of the rooms are accessible...
But wish i may..:D
Let's just hope they won't repeat all the mistakes they did in Crysis [i'm one of those who loved the game they've shown in the TechDemos, and utterly hated the final product]
I made this post when I saw it on Kotaku, but I had a feeling it was going to be in a city, since screens in the recent PC gamer showed a park bench in what looked to be a public park within a well maintained city.
However, I thought that the game would take place in Pyongyang or Seoul, since they fit in with the Korean aggressor theme.
