Needless to say, this is fucking awesome. Yeah, sure, jungles make for great engine tech demos and stuff but this is going to be kickass. Crysis 2 is coming out for the PC, 360, and PS3 and this time you're going to commit sin upon alien invaders in the Big Apple.
Then again I can think of a few reasons why people will hate this. They must be shunned.

Yeah, the premise is made of win. Killing aliens in an urban setting should be awesome. I just hope they don't put in some gimmick to annoy me (like that timer/cooldown stealth armor they had in ... Farcry 2 or Crysis, forget which). Also, the enemies with mile long x-ray vision that they have had in previous titles could be annoying in an urban environment...

Pity its going to look like rubbish.

Yeah I saw this news the moment they came out today, I'm waiting to have a look on all those magazines and drool about it.
I'm sure Crysis 2 will be a great game, much well received by the reviewers just for having console editions, as it goes nowadays. And being on a city it will make a great vertical gameplay, as a Crytek representative already said on an interview.
It's one AAA game I'm looking forward for this next holiday, one of the top 3 for sure, if not the first. I hope it delivers the best of the first Crysis on PC with all the tech improvements they are claiming, and hoping that they better support the MP with new modes and all.

I'm just hoping they don't screw up the strengths of the pc while developing this for the consoles. Mainly how the mouse sensitivity is, if it feels like a pc aiming or if it has that sluggish unprecise feel of a console port. I know crytek have done pc games well for ages so hopefully its unfounded worry. Looking forward to the urban fighting though.

That annoys me, too. I need the feel of the pc game, not just the mouse control.

I just played through Deadspace which has this problem of console feel even with a mouse. I got used to if after a few hours but it was only playable because deadspace is a much slower paced shooter then something like crysis. It had some horrible axis sensitvity, the X axis was about 4 times faster then the y axis. So the same motion it took to 360 spin on the spot would only allow me to look at the ceiling :\.

Hmmm I haven't played it yet, but I've read somewhere that you have to turn off the in-game v-sync, close the game, and turn it on on the nvdia/ati app. Then fire up the game, and crank the mouse sensitivity as you like; doing this will give you back some pc feel from this game.

Ohh I did the v-sync trick, the game is completely unplayable with v-sync on. I turned it off completely and left it off on the control panel. The mouse just lags horribly both in the game menu and during the game with v-sync, its at least a couple seconds delay.
Like I said crytek has a good track record with pc games but this is their first console port so I'm just hoping they don't get lazy and forget the pc.

well be sure of it, in-game v-sync OFF, and force v-sync ON on the app, restart the game, move up the sensitivity. But you need a good GPU to have the v-sync on and make this work, I think.

I'm a huge fan of the jungle environments of Crysis and Warhead, so New York sounds like a disappointing setting. We have enough shooters set in cities.

Yeah, how about Copenhagen? That'd be different :-D
Actually, that'd be awesome. Now I wanna play GTA Copenhagen. Too bad that'll never happen :-(
