After that lecture, yeah, that's probably the only reasonable way to get those. I have not checked in a while thou
I thank those who do both what GoG do and those who allow others to be able to once again enjoy an old game that could only be acquired thanks to those who bothered to make it accessible once more. I actually disapprove of companies completely abandoning the games in the first place.

that is not the case. if it were the case, abandonware would be legal. as of this year, no software since 1964 can be considered to have its copyright expired.
having said that, i don't find abandonware morally wrong at all. if a publisher doesn't even offer a way to buy their game, then they're not going to care if i download it from an abandonware site. and it seems that those sites readily comply with takedown requests.

I hope GoG gets every game I want in this case. I'm not putting up with any titles disappearing off the face of the earth. There are so many good ones yet to be put up here.

Legally all of those abandonware sites are committing copyright infringement. Now if you want to argue from a moral standpoint you would have a very valid case and I'm guessing that most here would agree. But at the same time we're also willing to admit that it is illegal at the same time.

you want to talk about real creepy? Talk to the people that have a whole home stuffed with pokemon figurines and plushies or those people that watch Lucky Star constantly and think it's good

Such good games. The graphics and sound were astounding for their time, too. The first game came with tons of extras too, booklets and such, that were well written and gave a flavorful backstory to the game. Nobody puts out games with anything like that kind of great supplemental material anymore, unfortunately. But Crusader was a friggin' marvel even in its own time.
I also really liked the music a lot. There was some great lonesome, simple but evocative guitar going on when the hero comes home to find some terrible news on the home front. I still remember it after all these years.
And the secret rooms were awesome.
