With all the fear of used games going out how about gog start to sell physical copies. Also people who buy new games under the gog banner get the digital version for free that means they can activate that game on their GOG account. Rewarding people for buying new games rather than punishing. Any chance GOG could do a Kickstarter for this?

New games!? The reason I hang out here is for the older stuff that I can't get elsewhere unless I want to pirate it or kill myself working through compatibility issues.

Nope, not gonna happen. Digital downloads are the future, the used game market will inevitably dry up because of that. No need to put it on life support by having GOG go the extra unnecessary expense of introducing physical copy sales. Besides, GOG long ago said they have no interest in even considering something like that.

I like the idea of having a physical copy of a classic old game like that, but it would be more of a novelty than anything else with the way the market is heading. It would be a cool promo for nostalgic purposes but anything on a large scale just seems impractical and not financially viable. Plus, I'd bet GOG's legal distribution rights don't extend to physical distribution, although I'm no lawyer so I can't say for sure. Working out the rights for that would most likely be a nightmare.

That is a crazy idea.

Let's talk about System Shock 2 instead! I can hardly wait!
