taczillabr: Hmm... Changes coming to Atari?
"Atari Co-founder Nolan Bushnell Rejoins Company as Board Member"

ET remake for PS3, PC, and 360.

chautemoc: A surprise game is coming. Not tomorrow though.

You and bansama are that excited that can't hold the teasing, eh? :p
I was confused because on the gog picture I've posted it is MoO2; and on the gog news post it is MoO, without any number, then it isn't clear if it is MoO as a series or MoO1 coming.

chautemoc: That's amazing. And what timing.

Well, interesting it is.
I don't know if I can call it amazing, since Atari isn't the same old company but now "two or three" big companies, I don't even know their real situation... So I can't say what his real power will be there.
I've posted it in the hope that his re-join ignites a renewal there, a new Atari for us... with drm-free re-releases, etc. ;)

You can always grab a shovel and head for the New Mexico desert. That is, if ancient legends are true.

This 'surprise game' is not an Atari game, right? I'm more excited to anticipate this surprise release, as the last high-profile surprise release we have is Betrayal at Krondor.

What he will find there by this legend? An ultra-secret dump exclusive for not so good 'ol ET cartridges? :p

DrIstvaan: Says the user with "Hamburgers" in the user title :-).
Aren't you afraid you'll be processed into a hamburger* if you moo around like this? :-D
(Sorry, I had to...)
*supposing burgers are made of real meat

Haha it was the most random thing I could come up with...

ExecutionerFive: Hopefully MOO2, and not the original

I will be extremely disappointed if they do not add the original in 5 hrs... that was my favorite by far!

Well, he might find the remains of those cartridges. According to the legend, prior to dumping and burying them, they were crushed into itty bitty pieces.

I quote from that page:
Some other video game manufacturers attempted to rid themselves of excess inventory by selling it at sharply reduced prices, but Atari, stuck with millions of games and consoles that were largely unsellable at any price, sent fourteen truckloads of merchndise from ther plant in El Paso, Texas, to be dumped in a landfill in Alamogordo, New Mexico in late September 1983. In order to keep the site from being looted, steamrollers crushed and flattened the games, and a concrete slab was poured over the remains.
End Quote
WTF, are they f--king retarded? Just crush the shit? Why not hand it out for free? They went Oh this lost out so bad for us no one can have it free we shall destroy these shitty games!"
Atari lost the very minimal amount of respect I still had for them when I just read they trashed stuff like that. If they dropped the consoles and games on Russia we would've won the cold war because they'd kill each other! Drop them as kinetic bombs even, don't leave them intact! Anything is better than f--king crushing them with a steamroller and wasting the concrete on a slab to prevent them from being stolen. RETARDS!!!.>>>>Jareeted off

I don't know, was ET really as bad as everyone over the age of 30 claims?

Yes. Yes it was. It was a game that wasn't fun to play, and wasn't possible to win. Utterly pointless.

michaelleung: I don't know, was ET really as bad as everyone over the age of 30 claims?

Yes, it's very very bad. Everyone should try it atleast once. It's even annoying to watch it on Youtube. *shudders*

The movie? No, it is a classic cheeseball 80s flick.
The 2600 game? I think someone inhaled too much crack and let this abomination onto the 2600.
