Not really. There are only two price points afterall. Are we going to pointlessly trade a $5.99 GOG for another $5.99 GOG for example?

GOG should stay as simple as possible.

One of the main reasons I love GOG is the simple downloading and backing up of exe files. It's like MP3s but for videogames, which is how I feel all distribution should be. If movies and TV shows were sold in a similar manner I would buy thousands of them, so it's a shame they're not.

If GOG went to a client they would instantly lose a lot of support from people like me.

How many games are we talking about though? Are you going to start loading up on games on sale hoping for a sale on another game at some point?

Steam is a little different. Coupons were handed out, you can trade items in TF2, you can gift extra copies of certain games if you buy a pack and games get gifted by steam during big sales. GOG doesn't have any of that making trading oppurtunities very limited.

Why the bloody hell do you want another client? You have Steam, Capsule, Desura, whatever else you have; ain't all that trouble enough? Sure it doesn't need to be complicated, sure it can be really shiny with the trading and gifting and offline mode and library; but why on earth do we need it for? I can play my games all right without any client. I don't want one more bloatware on my pc, not even it's the coolest of the gaming clients. Games are designed to run on my OS, no need to add another layer of software on top of it.

At this point in time, I think it seems a bit unnecessary, being able to send the codes though e-mail upon purchase is quite enough for now.

And I agree with the others, I really don't want yet another client. The benefit and positive they are supposed to have it that they keep everything in one place, tidy, organized, convenient. It's not convenient anymore when you star accumulating these clients, which is rather easy to do given near enough every DD does have their own. Once that benefit is lost you've just got something that does exactly what a website does only it takes up more space on your computer.

It's getting obnoxious, and makes it more annoying trying out new stores and trying to shop around for the best deals. I already need to deal with accounts shopping around online don't need other things on top of that.

Having a "client" doesn't automatically means automatically having it required to download/install/play games. It could be an optional client; simply be a "enhanced" version of the GOG downloader.

Personally I would be 200% against a Steam-like mandatory client , but I would love having more features in the GOG downloader like for example being able to browse/search your collection directly from the downloader or at least having an option to check if the games you already downloaded were updated.
