As everyone knows what goes around comes around.

Before I get to my point I want to tell you a small tale true in fact. I've been needing a new Desktop computer for a while now. On Christmas my parents gave me enough money to order one off of New Egg! Excitedly I found a computer combo pack . This is awesome! It is going to be my first custom built computer and it is going to be the best computer I've had to date. Anyways, so I wasn't able to order it for three days (got to order it today). Turns out that today they added in a $20.00 gift card to the processor so I got that with the combo pack! I'm so happy I had to wait 3 days!!!

Now here is the strange bit about that. Insta-karma.

Two days ago I was getting help on a GPT site. The guy helped me out showing me how to make money fast, etc. I earned $20.00 from his help. He only wanted a $5.00 Amazon Gift Card but I gave him a $20.00 one.

I gave $15.00 and I received $20.00 which is more then I gave. The very next day! This really did prove (further) to me that what goes around comes around.

Now after that long tale.. on to my request.

I am hoping that someone would be willing to and has the ability to spend $2.99 on a gift for me. I know it is begging and begging is bad unless you actually NEED what you beg for. I admit I don't need it, it is not essential to my survival, I will not die without this video game. I just really really want to play this game and wanted to see if someone in the community can help me.

The game is Arx Fatalis

It is on sale for $2.99.

I am deeply great full to anyone who even bothered to read this far, thank you.

Like my story.. you get more then you give.

we already have a seperate thread for this

http://www.gog.com/en/forum/general/the_gog_community_gifting_thread
Yes, I made a post there.

I don't know.. just thought I would ask in a separate thread, don't quite know why.

It's called marketing, standing out from the rest.

I sincerely hope someone is able to help you with your request because Arx Fatalis is supposed to be a great game, or so I've heard (I've bought it (but not played yet) from GOG in this Christmas promo, and I was mostly interested in it because some have called it a spiritual successor to Ultima Underworld games, even if by a different company).

Unfortunately I can't help you because I already promised someone as a late Christmas present to buy him a legit copy of Minecraft because he seems to love it so much.

Wow, you sound like one of those guys selling vacuum cleaners at the door. The whole karma thing was obviously meant to make people get you the game with the hope of getting a little more back (very subtle - not). If someone is willing to help out, good for you.

However, could you PLEASE NOT use those annoyingly horribly incomplete titles to trick people into visiting the topic? The topic title lets you add a very long sentence - there's absolutely no need to write crap like "could you help me with ..." or "what do you think would happen if ..." - on some other forums I go to, it would result into an immediate locking of the topic since it "thread crapping" and thread titles are there to be informative, not to lure people into reading them under false pretences.

I saw two such titles and immediately knew they'd be made by the same person and they were - by you. So please, use the titles for what they're meant for: to be informative.

Making up titles is really hard, I truly know that. I suck at it :D

Anyhow, let's hope someone gifts you the game, I've heard that its good and there's really no harm is asking.

THIS.

Thank you Red_Avatar.
I thought gifting threads were for the generous, upstanding members who offered to give stuff away, not for some muppet who has just spent $1500 on a brand new computer but is too much of a tight ass to spend $3 more putting it to some use?

I don't like these panhandling threads.... it's rude and tasteless.

Instead of writing another thread like this, go stand outside your house and hassle people for coppers.

OP.. You tell us that you made $5 profit then proceed to ask us for $3.. WTF??!!?? If I was one of the generous, upstanding aforementioned, you be off my list so fast... Askers aren't getters.

No, it's called begging.

I don't get what your little story has to do with your request...And you say you've earned money but still want somebody to buy you free stuff.. I don't get it, sorry.
There is no freaking marketing scheme. I was just sharing a little story.

Anywho, it's a topic begging for a gift soo.... I don't really see the point in posting saying that I am begging for a gift.

If you don't want to do it fine I completely understand. And yes I made a separate topic and an uninformative topic title to get more views. As I've seen on this forum (unlike any other forum I go to) informative titles gets you less replies. People here choose not to read any of those.

I personally didn't see the harm in asking and when asking throwing in the bit about my luck with karma. Though if it's sooo offensive I then don't post any more and let this thread die.

And besides all that half the posts in the gift thread are "Oh I've spent all my money on my new games will someone buy me this one?"
