The contests are not quite up to par with standards of today, personally I'm seeing quite a few individuals getting blown off. I don't expect GoG to change the atmosphere they've already conjured up, but please choose some better finalist in the drawings.

Until next time.

freezinghazard: The contests are bullshit, one entry is beyond good and evil and the rest are terrible meme's made in paint.

And out of 3 of these submissions I've spent hours on not one is better than a "that's what she said" joke?

Just to add to the flame over 2 different people never received a prize for EA's crossword even though their answers where correct.

Count me one less GoG customer.
Really? "I didn't win a contest, so I'm taking my toys and going home!"? Okay, then....
Now I don't disagree that some of the winners of the caption contest was reaching for low hanging fruit, but still...

And I doubt just having all correct answers on the crossword puzzle made anyone entitled to a prize, I believe there was a random draw amongst those who had everything correct.
they randomly choose the winners.so you gonna give up on GOG because you didn't win a contest?

The caption contest says nothing about being random.

So it's fair play that a winner used a beyond good and evil screenshot? And you seriously agree with the paint winners? I'm missing something here or you guys are being blinded and defending a brand that does not care about you.

Different humor in different parts of world?
Humor is not defined by the ammount of work put into it, humor has to be funny in the first place. I didn't find a single of your pictures funny. If you can't lose don't participate in contests.
I was refering to the crossword puzzle.and like you said,it must have been a random draw

I thought as usual, GOG only took every participant last entry, no matter how much participant submitted their entries. So, maybe your latest entry wasn't too funny / clever to their eyes?
But, you're missing the spirit of contest here. It's all subjective opinion.

Passing that up "From all of you who send us the correct answers, we will select 10 winners" you are correct it's a random draw.

But still let's put that aside and not change the subject, a beyond good and evil screenshot was used and a that's what she said joke along with other "cheesy" jokes where winners over what I think where some good submissions. These people who submitted great ones got put down.
This much moaning over a single $5.99 coupon limited to Interplay games or a code for a $5.99 EA game? Wow.

Your pictures here did not make me laugh at all. Most entries were lacking in humor though, and someone has to lose. Why do you think that "more time spent" on an entry means it more deserves to win?

As for the Beyond Good and Evil...if that isn't Interplay, then it was just a mistake to select it. Does that 1 mistake really ruin it that much for you?

It won't matter whether I won or not, I've got enough money to justify buying every game on their catalogue but treating us badly is just a detergent and i'll take my business else where. Not to mention I've sent them a resume and never heard back, complete with a well put together portfolio I guess it must be something about them that makes it special to not reply to a well written email.

Could the Beyond Good and Evil selection have been human error, instead of an intentional disregard for their customers? Does the inclusion of that one selection really lead you to conclude that the gog owners "[do] not care about you"? That seems like a really big jump in logic to me.

If the winners were randomly selected, then in order to satisfy you, they would have had to kick out some of the people who won randomly and replace them with the people who spent a lot of time working on submissions. That seems like corruption to me and morally wrong. What is morally right is for gog to follow the rules of the contest by selecting random winners.

Furthermore, where do you draw the line when it comes to whether someone spent enough time on an entry? How do YOU know how much time other people spent on their entries? Maybe some people made like 10 entries that took them 3 hours to make all 10, but then that person decided only to use one. It's entirely possible that the people who just used microsoft paint to make their final entry spent much, much more time on the project than their final entry shows. You are just failing to see all these points.

The bottom line here is that you went far above and beyond the submission requirements and now you expect something extra for your effort. Well sorry, but you voluntarily spent far longer on this than you needed to, and the rules are the rules. The rules say nothing about automatically winning by spending a long time preparing the entries.
