Just for fun I'll try and guess also. I'm going with HoMM 1. More of a hope than a guess :)

I'll probably do one ore two more by the end of the sale. I think it's interesting to see what some people consider hidden gems :)

Unfortunately this will always be tainted info.
People will probably go for the games that clostest fits 3 criteria:
Gem
Not currently owned
Not already guessed.

So not just pure gem.

Obviously. It's faulty thinking when someone does that. It only decreases their chances of winning. But to me it's still interesting to see.

Uh? Now I'm a bit puzzled.

*If they do not consider the game a gem, it can hardly be qualified as hidden gem, so, that criteria is a must (though it is subjective, but that's what you're looking for).

*If they already own the game, participating to win a copy would seem foolish to me, wouldn't it?

*As your contest only allows for one person to guess each game, the third criteria listed is a must given the task at hand.

How would any of that decrease one's chance of winning?

Last, but certainly not least, congratulations Game Ranger and thank you very much for the contest Aningan ;)

Well for example take someone choosing Baldur's Gate. I think that can hardly qualify as a hidden gem. And in all honesty going for true gems you have less chance of winning something like this.
Don't get me wrong, I think it's an ok promo from GOG bringing forward some not-so-popular games at good prices.

Well, i wouldn't consider Unreal as hidden gem .After all it was the series, which competed with Quake.
Congratulations for GameRager.

Ah. In that case, I clearly misunderstood you and you might (or might not :p) have misunderstood Rodzaju.
Some of us might consider a game a gem, even if it's not on the top of the best selling list.
I agree that Baldur's Gate would be a rather... far fetch to qualify for the additional 'hidden' part though ;)
Personally, I took all the three criteria listed by Rodzaju, but added a fourth, namely at the middle of the 'best selling games' list, by which point it's a hidden gem in my eyes ;)
Actually, I even added a fifth criteria and took a genre which hasn't been featured before in the (false!) hope of increasing my odds *eyes GOG*.
