Nirth: Haha, I remember Psi-Ops. It's awesome, I can't not enjoy a game with psychic powers.
It had the best bug. You couldn't climb a ladder in case you disabled VSync which I did because I wanted to play at 60FPS, they game forced it at 30FPS with VSync on. I found the solution my second or third try to play through it. I wonder if it works better on Windows 7, I haven't tried yet.
DMC 3 ran like butter with no bugs for me with a small 8800GT and other than camera issues in Legacy of Kain (all of them except Blood Omen) they run almost flawlessly. Same camera issues goes for Ultimate Spider Man and Enclave was technically not bad but I didn't like the entire game so I just rushed it.
I skipped Damnation, my friend and brother played those. Was it any good?
Damnation is awesome - What upset people is that it had an old school difficulty to it. There's a lot of Tomb Raider style running, jumping and clinging situations.
Also, your NPCs scripting took them on short cuts during some situations where they may have got stuck or slowed the game down - People felt those parts didn't look realistic but from the developers' view point I can understand the concept of practicality over presentation.
ie; You ride a rope from one cliff to a lower one across a gap and your NPCs just sort of blink over there once you arrive.
Also the 2nd or third level introduces a large motorcycle for two other passengers. There's a portion of the level that you need to drive it through and there's tons of slapstick comical failure taking place. The segment, on a good run, only lasts about six minutes but it took me a good forty five to get through it. XD
It's one of the better games that I bought this year however.
Pheace: Yeah, kind of confusing. He seems to be 'laughing' at the people who told/tell him his rig was too old, because people have problems with new ports on their new rigs, games that *he* can't even play, problems or not, because his rigs too old.
But because he can play ports from 'way before time' well now on his still old rig, he seems to somehow twist that around as an 'In your face!'
I'm confused.
More or less - I'm finding that I can run ports that X were claiming to be 'broken' back in the day.
I'm discovering they were not broken, those attempting them didn't have updated PCs at the time.
I felt this was ironic given my usual complaints about games 'not working' and X correcting me telling me they do work but my system is too old.
The thread would have been more concise to just say that I'm having an easy time running all of these ports that people, in the past, complained were broken.
