Miaghstir: No online? Yeah, except both LAN and online games did exists for it.
The smaller, newer, version of the PS2 also had the network interface built in, instead of needing an expansion card like the previous versions.

I think he meant that not all the games were focused on online play.

GamePak: I used to be a hardcore, Nintendo console only guy, but recently all the games they've been making are either aimed at children, or those "insert task here" Mama games. I feel like my Wii is a child-oriented paperweight. Ever since, I've been on the PC and regret not having been here earlier. Definitely going to be using the PC more often. At least 'till they make Doom for the Wii or port Fallout to the DS.

Its possible to play Fallout on DS, actually, if Im not mistaken, or various other portables. :)
What I want to know is how many people, like me, actually play both consoles and PC? Seems like there shouldn't be such a dividing line to me.
I've always been half-and-half with it, since I got my Packard Bell. Before that, it was all about my NES and Castlevania/Contra/Super Mario.
I'll never prefer PC to consoles.
They have horrible Japanese development support, you need to install and configure games to get them to work, you can't play them lying down, and there's barely any multiplayer games.

Nice one.
Last console I had was SNES. I'll go back to consoles some day to pick up the console-exclusive greatest hits (Metroid Prime, Pikmin, Ico, Shadow of the Colossus). Fortunately, these platform-holder-developed games tend to get re-released on each successive system. So I've just got to find someone with a PS2-PS5 and Wii1-Wii3 some day.
Also, I might go back because Bomberman rocks.
Though I started as a console gamer ( my first was an NES) my best childhood memories were on DOS. Its the transition to Windows and Direct X that made get a PS1.
it was my first PC build that then I quit PC gaming all together due to horrible part selection on my behalf.
I still play classics though every now and then.

Mm, delicious. I might have to check into that more now... Thanks. Ah the possibilities of homebrew. Either that or the laziness of video game companies to not include it in the first place.
Console gamers converted to PC? I guess I'm one. I call myself an "xbox refugee", forced to flee the overpriced piece of scrap known as the xbox 360 due to it constantly breaking.
It just so happens that the PC is best for my two favourite genres as well. RTS and FPS games are better here.
I do sometimes play the 360 when I'm visiting people who have one though.

I was mainly a console gamer in the NES/Genesis/Super NES days, but have since been mainly a PC gamer. I've played PS1 and a few PS2 games, but I like being able to make backups of my games so I don't have to worry about losing the discs.
I know I can mod my console(s), but I'd rather find a mod for an exe (if necessary) instead of modifying the hardware.
The mod community also is a big plus for me. I just can't justify to myself the expense of paying more for console games when I'm already going to have a PC gaming system. If I was on the fence I can see the lure of having a console, but it's not even tempting to me anymore.
Genesis = greatest console ever.
I still play mine. Played it just this Sunday.
Wii is the best !
