reaver894: Gaming and "work."
By work I write instruction guides tailored to peoples learning styles at the moment.
Edit: yes I could use a type writer for most of my "work"
Well if its just a gaming and word processor you don't really need a 6core cpu at the moment. Well unless your a large flight sim fan. You will be better off getting a quad core system with more power then a lower power cpu with more cores for gaming.
Also while lower latency higher speed ram is generally better it makes very little difference in gaming benchmarks. You'll be lucky to see gains of 5% on some of the top end expensive stuff. Any thing over 1333mhz starts to show massive diminishing returns anything over 1600mhz at the moment is a waste of money on a gaming rig.
If you really, really want a AMD rig I'd hold out until the AMD3+ chips like wodmarach said, because as it stands at the moment for higher end gaming rigs intel are just better.
