This week we released Port Royale 2, Simon the Sorcerer and Simon the Sorcerer II and we'd like you to write reviews for these games. Starting now, every Saturday at 6:00 a.m. EDT we will reward one lucky reviewer per title with a bonus code for a free game. That means three winners this week! You don't have to be a writing prodigy to win, as long as you have the game on your account, the review is your own creation and it's not something along the lines of "LOL Review +1". ;) Check out the comments for the contest's rules here.
Here are the rules of the contest:
1) You must have the game(s) present on your account to participate.
2) If you have multiple new releases on your account, you can increase
your chances and write reviews for all of them.
3) Only the review(s) of this week's new releases will be able to
participate in the contest.
4) The review(s) must meet the extremely high standards of GOG.com. ;)
5) The review(s) must not be a copy of a review from a different
website.
6) One winning review per game will be drawn from all applicable
reviews written before Saturday 6:00 a.m. EDT.

I want to play, but I don't want to buy any games. :(
Awesome idea. So we essentially have to have played the game before to write a decent review, or buy and play a game as soon as it is released on GOG?

Both, really. If youve already played it but dont have it on GOG, you'd have to buy it, but not have to play it again. If you havent played it, you'd have to buy it then play it.
I wished this would be extended to every GoG game... on a related note, why is the Simon the Sorcerer smith without an arm?

He lost it in the war.

Frankly, anyone who does this ought to have their account banned. Bloody plagiarists.

Isn't that the essence of piracy?
if they steal someone elses written word for gain, wouldn't they just pirate the game instead? so it seems like participating would be useless for that subject.
Me, I'm close to maybe getting Arx Fatalis because of this.. I recently saw the used retail version go for over $30 on Amazon..
Nice one, guys :-)
Update: we decided to give you guys and gals a bit more time to show us your creative side. :) Ten days is a lot more time than two and more than enough to finish a couple of games and write a few words about them. :)
I don't understand why we need to have the games on our account - that pretty much means we're only going to be getting people's first impressions. Wouldn't you rather have some opinions from people who've owned these games for years as well?

That doesn't mean that at all. People are going to rebuy the game here, either because they lost/sold their original, or because they simply want a version that just plain works on xp/vista without them having to mess around too much. Or people might buy them just to participate in the contest even, even after owning the copy. You're going to get seasoned reviews, if you even review the release threads people will say "sweet, I'm glad to see this here, I played it years ago and am excited to see a version for XP/Vista."
