would be great if we could get some of those here, especially the old text adventure games!
Some of them, like Zork, are already online for free. :)
If they were going to to this, they'd need to make it a bundle pack.

No, it would be worthless :-P Good Old Games are PC Games, no Amiga, no 3DO, no Commodore 64, no arcade, no wii, no nintendo, no sega, no sony, no playstation, no megadrive, no nes, no snes, no saturn, no gameboy, no psp, no ds, no dreamcast, no 32x, no nec pc-engine, no intellivision, no magnavox, no pong, no spectrum, no CD32, no gamecube, no lynx, no atari, no cray, no unix, no os/2, no *insert name of your crappy lovely console here* games at all.
I hope this will solve all the questions for the ones asking for "why don't you turn GOG into something involved with emulation/abandonware somewhere in the future?". Thank you for you cooperation :-D

uummmm
so u think that the commodre 64 isn't a pc?
i want u to explain why do u 'think' it's not a pc.
computers didnt start with ibm or apple!
and since you group commodre pcs with consoles, it shows you have limited knowledge and understanding, so NO, YOUR POST DOESNT SOLVE ANYTHING.
Actually, some of the greatest games i played on the pc where emulations, like Lufia, Chrono Trigger, Tales of Phantasia. Or Alien Legacy
When i compare this games to something like Titan Quest or Silverfall, also RPGs.. well.
This are no "good old games", but if i take a look at the wish list.. Baldurs Gate? Tribes? Red Faction? .. then i would prefer getting some emulations, first, if not only.

Here ya go mate, there's no point in trying to download them, molst Jpegs are probably larger in size than some of the '64 games link to a C 64 emulator site :http://www.c64.com/?type=1&id=2099

You seem to be forgetting a few other games on the wishlist, such as Planescape: Torment, X-COM, Master of Magic, System Shock, Monkey Island, Master of Orion, etc.
If you did include those in your comparison, then, well, I'd except an angry mob with pitchforks to show up at your door in about seven minutes.
Compilation CD's with an emulator and up to 3000 games came out legally (in the UK at least) for the Spectrum, the Commodore 64 and the Amiga. I got the C64 and Amiga versions. They were only £9.99 ($15) each. If I remember correctly, the C64 version had the 3000 games and the Amiga only in the 100's.
Of course, I still have my Commodore 64 and floppy/tape drive along with a couple 100 original games. The one's I still play are mostly the Microprose titles like Red Storm Rising, Stealth Fighter. Decision in the Desert and Conflict in Vietnam and Gunship. I also play EA's Strike Fleet and an unknown brilliant game call 'The President is Missing' (which also came out on PC!).
By the way, in my opinion, the best Commodore 64 on the web is NOT a download site, but a C64 fansite with fairly buzzing forums and excellent reviews, etc: Check it out at:

I did not say the wishlist itself was/is bad, there a lot of good games listed.
Also i did not forget them, i just took a quick look and mentioned *some*.
But i really would prefer some other games, "non-pc" if you wish so, instead of *some* of the games currently on the wish list.
I was never a fan of Baldurs Gate and even less of Planescape, the only good X-Com game is X-Com Apocalypse. I must admit i missed the older ones back then, but when i tried them or the shooter etc..no. just no.
And if i look at the most voted/wanted..
System Shock 2? Sure.
Planescape Torment? I don't mind, as long as it doesn't slow other things down
System Shock? Sure.
Rest of the list? I understand that Monkey Island is one of THE classic games, it totally stands for what "good old game" means. But i never even touched it, it's just not what *I* want.
Outcast, Indiana Jones, Full Throttle.. i don't mind seeing them on GOG, but it wouldn't make me exciting to know that they get them etc.
I also wonder why some people added Fallout 3 or Sacred 2.. they are no way as good as some real good games, even if i like Fallout 3, and Sacred 2 seems pretty much like Sacred, which was okay.. but they are not old.
It is not really wrong to have them on a wishlist, but it's also not really right.
And about the angry mob.. well, i'm waiting. Would be nice to meet some of you guys ;)

They surely did not. The official definition of "PC" is simply a personal computer, a group which the C64 certainly belongs to.
However, the most common modern interpretation of "PC", is a personal computer with a specific hardware architecture, namely the one IBM pioneered originally, and that is still in use today. The C64 does not conform to this architecture, and so is not commonly classed as a "PC". This is also the reason why PC and Mac are usually viewed as two different platforms. Ironically enough, Mac, which used a completely different hardware architecture 20 years ago, is now virtually identical to a modern PC. So much so that people have successfully installed Windows on modern Macs.

Easy on the caps, there. He grouped the C64 with a lot of other platforms, be they consoles or computers. He never called the C64 a console. Which would indeed be wrong.

Lemon64 is indeed a brilliant site, as is LemonAmiga. I'd highly recommend them for any C64 and Amiga fans out there.
