First of all - gog.com is a great initiative. I hope it will dominate market and eliminate STEAM and other "DRM-NOT-FREE" products.
Now no topic - Command&Conquer is one of the greatest series in game history. Tiberium and Red Alert series.
Im pretty shocked tjat EA released first 3 classic titles for free - http://www.commandandconquer.com/classic
In my opinion they should give GOG all their games - for example RA3 protected by DRM. I would bought this game a looong time ago if it hasnt shitty DRM. I swear to mysefl i will NEVER buy a game/music or movie with that s***t.
Anyway - what do You think about it?

It's a bit soon for RA3, true. But only by a year. Anyway, if we get EA we've got more important games to get on GOG than the C&C games. The DRM was activation limited SecuROM, yes. But I don't know how easily it's removed.

Yes of course - but it has a sh**ty DRM. Its like Navagon said.
C&C classics - like Tiberium Dawn, Tiberium Sun + Firestorm and first Red Aler are available for free to download (my first post). But RA2 + Yuris Revenge, Generals still are good games. And old.
For RA3 is too soon but if in that cause i caold have had even more expensive but DRM free product - id buy it.
However EA did not think of that - so i still not buying RA3 even if it is for 1 USD.

Right - with using a cr*ck. But im buying a legal copy for NOT to use a cr*ck.

While I agree that releasing the first three Command & Conquer games is a great initiative from EA, and also probably works as a great promotion for their new C&C.
I think they could have done it better; Tiberian Dawn is released as two ISO files, Red Alert as two RAR files (which contains the ISO files), and Tiberian Sun as one RAR which probably works a bit different since I do not see a ISO file in there.
What is great about our digital age, is that they could have released them somewhat similar to how GOG.com does it. One executable file which installs the game and makes it playable without the use of discs or mounting ISOs. Even better, why not release them on GOG.com for 5.99 $ as part of their promo.
I really like it that we are moving forward and dont have to use a CD/DVDs or mount up ISO files in order to install and/or play games. So even if they are releasing games for free, I probably wont install it or play them, since it requires me to mount up the ISO files.
For the record, I own all of the mentioned C&C games on original discs - and they now serve as collectables. When GOG.com or someone else re-releases the games in the same way GOG does, then I might play them again.
You see? GOG has upped my standards on games, and Im just waiting for all of my good old floppy/CD/DVD games to be digitally re-released ;)

I downloaded all - Tiberium Sun is just a folder with working exe file - no iso, no image. Clikc and play.
I agree - GOG is great idea and i hope that they will destroy STEAM.

I can't agree completely with your opinion about isos. While I understand your point of view (ease of use), isos have one major advantage over GOG-like exe installers : they are platform-independent, while exe installers are not.
This means I can download an iso file, and mount it from linux if I feel like it. Now, the content of the disc might work (using Wine for instance), or it might not work. Anyway, this is related to the game itself, not its packaging.
With exe installers on linux, before even trying to run the game, you have to struggle to run the installer. This can be particularly frustrating if you know the game works perfectly on linux (Freespace 2 for instance, which has native linux binaries), but just can't extract the game from its package...
Of course, don't take this remark too seriously. When I'm on my Windows box, I also prefer exe packages, since Windows cannot handle iso files natively. However, ideologically speaking, I think it's better to build a long-term business on open standards instead of closed ones. That's especially true for GOG, with its non-DRM policy.
Just my 2 cents...

Not going to happen: people like playing new games as well as good old games. Support Desura when it launches and you may get what you want. Or a superior Greenhouse, at least.
Anyway, on topic: I would like to see EA release The First Decade compilation on GOG. However, I realise that will probably overshoot the $10 price limit currently in force. So more likely is that Red Alert 2 + Yuri's Revenge and Renegade getting sold for $6 each, and Generals + Zero Hour for $10. Perhaps add C&C 1, RA1 and TS as freeware in GOG .exes.
Or just wait for Red Alert 4 and EA releasing Red Alert 2 as freeware.

Even though GOG uses exe installers, it really isn't an issue with Linux due to the fact that they use open source Inno Setup. This is so easy to reverse that it makes it about equivalent to dealing with a simple compressed archive.

Though somewhat off-topic - The PS3 version, with better FMV (720P) came out middle of 2009 - yet bound by PS3 blu-ray DRM

My brother in UK will buy me The Firs Decade (for about 10 or less pounds - when recalculate it is cheaper tha in my country).
RA3 i would both a looong time ago - in the day of premiere. But it has DRM so i resigned. And i will not buy it until it will have DRM last gerenation (internet connection). Even for a 1 buck.
