Danger ahead!

Spelunky, a fun but very unforgiving platformer with procedural level creation, dynamic and diverse gameplay, and charming 2D graphics, is coming soon to GOG.com!

In Spelunky, you'll be exploring ancient temples, caves, and ruins so packed with deadly monsters and traps, that virtually every step you take without dying is a cause to feel good about your gaming skills. Where is danger, there also are rewards! The underground is full of forgotten treasures, gleaming gold nuggets, and shiny gems. Get the loot, escape the traps, beat the beasts, and rescue the damsel in distress (or a boy, cause they get in trouble just as much!). If you want to feel like a daring archaeologist/adventurer and you're not afraid of any danger, this game will feel like a dream come true.

Spelunky will be coming your way next Thursday (August 8), but you can start practicing your treasure-hunting skills today! Spelunky was initially released on the PC as a small freeware game, with the same amount of challenge as the upcoming modern version, but not as much depth and simplistic graphics. If you want to get a taste of spelunking action, the classic freeware version can be downloaded on the gamecard (the link's right above the "coming Aug. 8" notice).

Have fun with Spelunky Classic and expect even more special spelunking features on GOG.com before the new Spelunky comes!
Can't wait to go Spelunking again :D
Nice release, with a free bonus for everyone !

Well, it's not really much of a bonus...it's a link to a game you've been able to download for free for years =|
Game size is 0 ? o_0

Also you weren't kidding when you said exploration of ruins and "temples". I could spot Mahakali and pretty sure what was a Sikh guy in those screenshots :D

Surely they meant "if you can't wait to start practicing" at first, but then a second sentence popped up in their mind, and a syntax collapse occured. It was bloody and messy! ;-)
Now this is one the few games I have on xbox arcade that I'll buy again on PC. It's so damned good.

Well on the official website they say that the Xbox version was improving controller support. So I guess that means in the original pc version it wasn't supported so well...

Downloaded the demo version a couple of weeks ago when I figured it was going to come to GOG. Awesome game, and really looking forward to seeing the updated version as it looks beautiful.
Looks like an interesting game. I'm guessing a $9.99 price tag?
