Could it be they are maybe trying to release the game today (or sooner this week?).

I'm saying this based on:

So far no word from GOG.

Near the wishlist button says only "coming soon" and not "coming August 31st" (for the record even Mousecraft says coming July 8th).

Price? They said it will be regional price way back in March so I think most of us are expecting the same price as Steam.

The only thing is there is a 31number calendar plate next to the coming soon button on the game site - so probably August 31st as it was stated by GDoc yesterday evening.

Utuzuu: Nah, I haven't seen an official announcement for any of these. People in this forum just tend to be a bit paranoid...

...However, I still can't download my Kickstarter version of the game and I am as confused as you are about their eerie silence.

Matruchus: Here check this out for release date and kickstarter backers: http://www.gog.com/forum/general/coming_soon_divinity_original_sin/post77
Regional pricing for this game was already a done deal in the Going back to our roots thread.
Steam version is fully released - you can check it on Steam.

Everything he stated is confirmed (besides the NDA thing) and you can check it yourself.
Well the most important part isn't explained. Why the delay till August 31 ?
I'm not gonna believe it is because of Galaxy that would be utterly silly seeing as the kickstarter version works flawlessly except for Multiplayer.
And again how many people really play a divininity game especially for the multiplayer ?

No wonder the speculations are high :P.

epain: So I haven't followed all pages of this thread, but I'm curious if this is anywhere close to correct and / or final:

- the public Steam version is released, with fully functional multiplayer
- the GOG version is only available for Kickstarter backers, and only the LAN / Direct Connect multiplayer works, the other form of multiplayer (server browser and what not) will be included in the GOG Galaxy version
- the public DOS release on GOG will be delayed until the release of GOG Galaxy which is on the 31st of August
- the public DOS version will likely have regional pricing
- rumors say that GOG can't disclose us detailed information because of an NDA with Larian, because the game is, according to said rumors, a 2-month Steam exclusive
the exclusivity is a rumor and an ill-informed one as well. Valve do not like exclusivity deals, and encourage publishers to put their game on as many platforms as possible.

"8. Do you require exclusivity for titles you sell on Steam?
We think you should get your game in front of as many people as you can, therefore we do not require exclusivity on titles."

It's starting to look like (at least to me) Larian doesn't want to do a regular installer like the other games on gog, but a Steam-like client installation which would explain the wait for Galaxy. Developers doing this with newer games was the one thing I was afraid of when GOG announced Galaxy. I really hope Larian proves me wrong by offering a traditional manual installer like other GOG games when D:OS finally releases.

Even Mousecraft has the number 31, It's just an icon used for the coming soon advert and doesn't reflect the game. :-)

The calendar thing always looks like that and always displays a 31, no matter the actual release date.
Look what I missed. o_O
Although i am backer and I don't buy games on release as I can be patient so it doesn't involve me, I see this as very stupid move and find it handled very badly.

What was everyone from GOG and Larian thinking with this one?
They will lose a big amount of sales, not only from D:OS but also it could draw people here to buy other games.

It also shows GOG needs someone to replace TET to communicate with users properly.

The backers who could get their GOg keys have downloaded the game and are playing. So it seems that an installer that works on GOG exists already.

I've heard TET is still with GOG until August, he's just on holidays right now?

I read an article from Sven after the launch of Dragon Commander (fantastic genre blender if you haven't played it - one of the most underrated games in the last few years) and how pro - day 1 patch he was - and how for future they would focus on digital distribution and get physical copies out at a later date.

If it all comes to pass that public release happens with Galaxy - I wouldn't be surprised that your comment is on the money.

Maybe not, but they've had to anyway; as a backer, I'm downloading it right now. Yet they/GOG won't put it on sale.

So there is an old style installer for D:OS? Then why on Earth has the game been delayed on GOG for non-backers?

It would be silly for GoG to accept this though. The whole optionality part of the presentation which made the Idea actually great would be out of the window.
GOG needs to be careful with this situation, just a few minutes ago I stumbled across this article: http://www.examiner.com/article/how-gog-screwed-up-the-divinity-original-sin-release

I never heard about this website before, but hell it's surely easy to spot on google's top searches, All I wrote was "gog divinity" in the google search box.
