It seems that I have finally D:OS on the GOG shelf.

But sad for other who wanted to buy the game and to play it during summer.

GOG this is a huge mistake from you, I believe that you got a lot of new customers during the sale, people who expect to buy here new games. You should give them what they want, or they'll go elsewhere. I know that you had a lot of time for everything in the past (testing and releasing only old games), but now when you are also releasing new games you should be competitive with the others. Releasing a massive RPG hit two months later because your little optional galaxy client is not ready yet is certainly not a good move...

EDIT: And not only new customers are looking for D:OS here, you know. People who bought games like Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale or Fallout 1,2 would like to buy it too, it's their type of game. You know how much you have sold of those games, don't you know your customer base? Why are you doing this?

If you've not already done so, please raise a ticket to inform GOG about this (and that applies to anyone else encountering a similar problem).

Some have reported success using the GOG Downloader, but that crashed when I tried running it (possibly due to the large number of system permissions it needed).

This is logic. But this is GOG we are talking about.......

Btw. it's hilarious how because of the OPTIONAL CLIENT ™® and FREEDOM OF CHOICE ™® noone is allowed to play the game (except the backers) before the client is finished.

Great, now I just have to wait for them to exchange my Steam key for GOG one, sure hope they won't take 2 month to reply.
On a side note - I think this fiasco is Larian's fault. They we've been sucking up to Steam ever since the Alpha Early Access. Too much of the network/ /achievements/ mods code is hardlinked to Steam.

Larian are deliberately delaying the D:OS gOg release to fit in with gOg Galaxy schedule to drive customers to Steam? Interesting idea. So Larian actually hates gOg and wants to destroy it. It all makes sense now!

Yep. Especially the backers like me who gave away the alpha/beta keys cannot get any key right now and cannot play.
