Can you or someone else offer a link to where this was said?
These developments have had me debating whether I should retain my current KS-backer Steam key, or convert it over to a GOG key. If the Steam version can truly be run independently of the Steam client, then I'd be interested in just keeping the Steam key as-is. But, I certainly wouldn't want to do that if that were not the case.
If anyone could point to a source for this, that'd be great.

I remember them (Larian) saying that gog and Steam versions were a priority, even more so than the vault version. So you'll be waiting til after the gog version at least.

This is pretty nonsense , i am happy the backers are able to play now but why should others suffer and wait for gog galaxy ?? i am sure there are many who would have bought the game as the same build the backers are having rather than wait in line like second class citizens who are not backers :X

1. do not care about multiplayer
2. release the game for asap with the same build the backers are having now

i am not happy with the way non backers are treated in this case :X set the pre order page up and start selling

The game is delivered DRM free through Steam - thank you gOg for making my mind up for me.

Well could download the game and play now with the GoG Downloader.

Apart from the mess with the August release date which might be on GoG, I'm very disappointed how Larian handled this too.
I luckily didn't back the Banner Saga but they in a whole acted really cocky about the GoG release too.

D:OS is the first and last KS i backed why bother backing the Indies when they show the same Antics as the big ones.

I like Larian so it will probably not be the last game i get from them but my opinion did get considerably lowered.

I paid $200 for the CE version and I'm a day 1 backer. I DO NOT have a GOG key yet in either my early access version and my duo version. Larian Vault simply refuses to let us select GOG. Not sure whose fault it is.

i just read some of the backers are downloading gog versions already wow this sure is messed up

I'm fairly sure they disabled the GOG option for the moment till they have things sorted on their end and to prevent people accidentally nuking valid Steam keys (they seemed to have assumed those with duo keys would want two Steam or 2 GOG, and having the code nesscesary for one of each)

Yes it is, especially since some of us paid so much money. Frustrating, it's been like this since yesterday. Dragon Commander was fine with the releases, so I expect D:OS to be the same.
