Hi folks! We know that many of you are wondering why Divinity: Original Sin isn't yet available on GOG.com and when will it be released here.

Here's the official update from Larian Studios' Kickstarter page:
We’ve been secretly working on supporting GOG Galaxy, the new sexy online multiplayer platform from GOG.com and are happy to announce that full GOG Galaxy integration will be available for Divinity:Original Sin.

GOG is still working on launching Galaxy, so before that happens, our Kickstarter backers who have selected GOG.com as the digital distribution platform will be able to use Direct IP or LAN options to play in multiplayer. Once GOG Galaxy launches (by the end of August, the folks at GOG tell us), they will be able to take advantage of all the features this DRM-free online gaming platform offers.

So, there you have it. Rest assured that Larian's new monumental RPG is coming to GOG.com, and both the developer and ourselves are making sure you'll get it in the best possible form.

EDIT: The expected release date for this title is August 31, sorry for not communicating that properly.

EDIT#2:

This thread is no longer current. Please refer to the new Divinity: Original Sin - Status Update thread for more information. Thank you! :)

Oooooh, lurvely.

Does this mean a GOG Galaxy announcement with more concrete details in the immediate future?
Is this saying it's not coming to GOG today? Because it's odd that you bring up Galaxy in this post...

So, when can we actually purchase and play this? I really, really hope we don't have to wait until the release of Galaxy; that would royally suck.

Actually, I'd much rather be able to play this today than when Galaxy launches; as a non-Steam user I could care less about clients, cross-play, cross chat, achievements, etc.

G-Doc is missing a small piece of the statement:

Once GOG Galaxy launches (by the end of August, the folks at GOG tell us), they will be able to take advantage of all the features this DRM-free online gaming platform offers.

So, no Original Sin before End of August here for Non-Backers?
I smell a backslash of the hole regional pricing situation...

So, Larian has an "excuse" for a two month delay of the GOG Version and maybe is fine with one Dollar Price worldwide than - log-rolling...

And Larian an GOG decided this today???

Is the game coming to GOG today or not?

I would like a clear answer to this question please :-)
What a way it would be to hold off on release of a game until an "optional" client came out. That doesn't sound very optional to me.

Of course, there's no way that's the case. I'm sure G-Doc is about to say "yes, it is coming to GOG for everybody today".

No, they don't. There are a large number of KS backers that chose the GOG version of the game, and we were told the game would be available to us at launch. So that means they intend to have the game here today. If it's available here today for backers, there's absolutely zero reason it wouldn't be available for purchase as well.
That's very cool and I certainly appreciate the message, but it's pretty crazy if D:OS will only become available on GOG at the end of August.

Sorry, I am reading the opening post in a different way. GOG just says "soon", not "today" or "now" or "in the next hours". Instead they and Larian are linking the release date with the Galaxy Client. Yes it makes no sense at all, but this is the way I read the statement.
Guys please... Don't act like tools and jump to baseless conclusions just to have your chance in drama.

From the very first post...

Also *Laters the same day...*

My conclusion is the same.
Unfortunately this means lost sales for GoG. I know I just went with steam earlier this morning, and even if I was holding off for the gog version, given today is the release date, a "coming soon" instead of "out later today" would have pushed me to buy the game on steam now.
Sorry, doble post.
